Anika Goss is the CEO of the Detroit Future City (DFC) Implementation Office. In this role, Anika leads a dynamic team of experts to implement the DFC Strategic Framework, the guide to decision-making and investment in Detroit. She also directs all partnerships, project initiatives, investments and funding opportunities for the DFC Implementation Office.

Anika joined the DFC Implementation Office after nearly 20 years of leadership in national and local roles in community development and non-profit management.

Anika worked at the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) for 15 years. In her most recent post as Vice President of the Midwest Region, Anika provided strategic and technical support for seven LISC offices in cities across the Midwest that are engaged in resident-led, comprehensive community development. Her role included forging new partnerships, fund development support, program design and administrative leadership for LISC nationally. Prior to this, Anika served as LISC’s Vice President of Sustainable Communities, where she supported 16 local offices’ efforts to implement comprehensive community development strategies as part of its Building Sustainable Communities program.

Anika’s experience in Detroit began with LISC as well, where she served as the organization’s Detroit program director. She was noted for several major achievements while in this position, including managing a $40 million community development campaign, and designing and leading the campaign for the city’s first Land Bank Authority.

Anika also worked with the City of Detroit as its Director of Philanthropic Affairs and Executive Director of Next Detroit Neighborhood Initiative, leading an effort to transform six Detroit neighborhoods by improving city services and incorporating redevelopment strategies through public-private partnerships.

Anika has been an active participant and contributor to the Brookings Institution – Older Industrial Cities Working Group and European Weak Market Cities Working Group as well as the Regional Equity Working Groups led by PolicyLink and the Enterprise Foundation. She also serves on the board of Hatch Detroit, which supports independent retail businesses in Detroit through funding, exposure and mentoring.

Anika has a Master of Social Work in Community Organizing degree from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Sociology and African American Studies degree from Purdue University.

Sarah has overseen the procurement or provision of public support to leverage over $2.5 billion of private investment in mid-western cities. In her most recent role, she directed the team at the DEGC responsible for attracting and facilitating development in Detroit. As a Detroit resident herself, Sarah is personally invested in the city’s revitalization. She has completed several historic renovations in the city’s North End and serves on the board of Central Detroit Christian CDC. She earned a BA from Wheaton College in International Relations; a Masters in Urban Planning and a Real Estate Development Certificate from the University of Michigan

Amelia Patt Zamir is a Founding Principal of Method Development with over

10 years of institutional experience in real estate investment and

development. A metro-Detroit native, Amelia is passionate about taking part

in the city’s revival.

Amelia began her career at Jones Lang LaSalle in the New York City-based

Capital Markets Group, where her team originated nearly $1 billion in debt

and equity financing on behalf of institutional investors. Amelia later joined

the Acquisitions team at Clarion Partners, a global institutional pension fund

advisor. During her tenure, she was directly responsible for the underwriting

and due diligence for the closing and financing of nearly $500 million across

2.0 million sq. ft. of residential, retail and office developments. Prior to

founding Method, Amelia oversaw the acquisition, pre-development and

permitting of a 400,000-sq. ft. hotel and residential transit-oriented

development in Boston’s Back Bay on behalf of New York City-based The

Peebles Corporation.

Amelia studied architecture at Columbia’s Graduate School of Architecture

Planning and Preservation (GSAPP) in New York, NY. She also holds a Masters

in Real Estate Development from Columbia University, as well as, a Bachelor

of Arts with distinction from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor,

Michigan. In her spare time, Amelia serves as adjunct faculty at GSAPP in the

Masters of Real Estate Development graduate program.

Eric B. Larson has more than 30 years of experience in the field of real estate investment,

development, asset management and leasing. Since 2014, Larson has served as CEO of

The Downtown Detroit Partnership (DDP), a private/public partnership of corporate and

civic leaders who develop and support programs to enhance downtown Detroit.

In his role as Senior Vice President, National Investment Advisory & Brokerage Services at Friedman Real Estate, Steven Silverman has facilitated transactions surpassing $500 million in aggregate commercial real estate sales, spanning over 15 million square feet nationwide.

Silverman specializes in the acquisition and disposition of investment-grade real estate assets (including single and multi-tenant retail, apartments, industrial, office, hospitality, and self-storage facilities). He is also a well-recognized expert in stabilized, value-add, and distressed property auction sales.

Acknowledged for his outstanding achievements, Steven has received multiple CoStar Power Broker awards, garnered the prestigious CREXI Platinum Broker award in both 2022 and 2023, and earned the esteemed title of 'Top Retail Expert for 2024' by RETHINK Retail. Actively engaged in the real estate community, he also participates as a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

Functioning as a trusted advisor, Steven represents some of the nation's most prominent institutional funds, private equity firms, lenders & special servicers, and high-net-worth investors in the comprehensive buying and selling of properties across the country.

Silverman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Michigan. Beyond his professional pursuits, Steven's interests include travel, boating, sports, outdoor activities, community service, and enjoying quality time with friends and family.

Andrew is responsible for all aspects of property management accounting, corporate accounting, construction accounting, financial services, asset management, information technologies, and human resources. Mr. Gutman's focus is on internal and external client services and the provision of timely and accurate client-required information and maximizing asset value. He has been responsible for direct oversight of over $100,000,000 in debt and equity vehicles for the organization and for clients.

Jerry V. Darby, MBA, serves as the Vice President, Campus Planning, Development and Design for Henry Ford Hospital. He leads the system level planning and facility department for Henry Ford Health System as well as all planning and implementation of the Henry Ford Hospital Campus development plan. The campus planning includes the redevelopment of Henry Ford Hospital, academic campus development for the Henry Ford Health + Michigan State University Health Sciences partnership, and other projects associated with partnerships on the Henry Ford Hospital campus.

With over 30 years of experience as a management consulting leader in the health care industry, Jerry has planned, developed, and activated more than 30 million square feet of space during his career and has worked with nearly all of the top 20 US News & World Report Best Hospitals.

Most recently, Jerry was the Vice President of strategic advisory services at Covalus, LLC where he served healthcare clients in Michigan, Georgia and Colorado with their strategic facility planning needs.

He has also held several roles at Kurt Salmon Healthcare Consulting Group, including leading the business advisory group. During his 18 years at Kurt Salmon, Jerry led the facilities, operations, and IT groups, and managed the international group with a specific focus on the healthcare markets in the GCC.

Jerry is a graduate of the Global Senior Management Program through a joint program with the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and IE Business School in Madrid, Spain. He also has a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Iowa and a Bachelor of Arts in Pharmacy from Ferris State University.
