Neighborhood Series: Century City & Beverly Hills

The road since Harvard Business School has been a rewarding one for Lisa St. John. She joined Trammell Crow right after graduation, working in the Washington, DC, office before moving to LA. Prior to business school, she worked as a banker for Citibank in Tokyo. She loves her job, especially “putting together complex deals and coordinating the many facets of a successful transaction.” Lisa enjoys going to work every day and negotiating industry challenges, including evolving tenant space needs as buildings aim to be more of a lifestyle location. Landlords now offer tenants more amenities than before, driving the popularity of pet-friendly buildings and interactive outdoor space. Lisa encourages women to continue entering this dynamic and diversifying industry, but cautions them to make sure they love it as “it can still be a challenging career for women.” Outside of the office, Lisa has her hands full with her four children.

Patrick J. McRoskey is a Managing Director for CBRE, Inc. Mr. McRoskey leads CBRE’s leasing, property and project management on an award-winning, 4.5 million SF regional portfolio of Class A office properties. Those properties include the destination assets of 2000 Avenue of the Stars and Century Plaza Towers in Century City and Water Garden, a creative office campus in Santa Monica. As the CBRE team leader servicing this portfolio, Pat works closely with J. P. Morgan Asset Management – Global Real Assets, the advisor for investors who own the portfolio’s properties. Mr. McRoskey’s career experience has included providing advisory services and directing marketing and leasing activities for real estate portfolios totaling in excess of 10 million square feet. Prior to his current role at CBRE, Mr. McRoskey served for more than 16 years as Vice President of Leasing at MPG Office Trust where he was responsible for all brokerage and leasing transactions within the company’s nine million square foot downtown Los Angeles portfolio. Before his tenure at MPG Office Trust, he served as Director of Leasing for Hines in Los Angeles. Mr. McRoskey started his real estate career with CBRE in 1985. A graduate of the University of Southern California, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

Michael currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer for both KW’s Commercial Investment and Fund Management groups. He also serves on the Company's Investment Committee, which reviews and approves all acquisitions for the company. He joined KW in 2013 as a Vice President before becoming the Group CFO, and brings with him a diverse body of knowledge and experience in the Real Estate & Private Equity areas. Prior to joining KW, Michael was with global accounting firm KPMG, with stints in Los Angeles, Luxembourg City and Sydney. After returning to Los Angeles, he was a Senior Manager in their Assurance practice where he was in charge of the global audit of a multibillion dollar client and served as a national instructor for KPMG’s staff training programs. Michael graduated with honors from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with concentrations in both Finance and Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) as well as a member of the AICPA and CALCPA.

Blair Schlecter is the Director of Economic Development and Government Affairs for the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce. In this role, Blair advocates for the interests of member businesses, works with businesses and the City of Beverly Hills on a number of economic development initiatives, and runs the Chamber’s prestigious Economic Development Council that addresses important policy and economic issues in the City of Beverly Hills and greater Los Angeles region. Blair is passionate about connecting people and his involvement in civic affairs, including transportation, technology and urban planning issues. He is a graduate of the Team Beverly Hills and New Leaders Project both of which engage leaders in local civic government and policy issues. Prior to his current role, Blair practiced as an attorney, first for a law firm representing primarily government agencies such as the County and City of Los Angeles and then in his own private practice handling appeals of civil lawsuits in a wide variety of legal subjects including real estate and business matters.

Spencer Kallick is an Associate in Glaser Weil’s Government & Regulatory Department. He primarily represents investors and developers in all aspects of real estate transactions, concentrating on land use entitlement matters and CEQA compliance. He also represents clients in legislative, regulatory and enforcement matters before and involving federal, state and local governments. Mr. Kallick has extensive government experience, including having served as an assistant city attorney for a number of California cities, focusing on constitutional as well as land use and development issues. He has also worked in Washington DC, Missouri and California for elected officials at the federal, state and local levels. As an active member of the real estate and legal community, Mr. Kallick is a member of the Real Estate & Construction Cabinet of The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles and the Urban Land Institute’s Young Leaders Partnership Forum. He is deeply committed to the Jewish community and serves on the Board of Directors of Moishe House, an international non-profit organization providing meaningful Jewish experiences to young adults across the world. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Fiedler Hillel at Northwestern University. Mr. Kallick served as Vice President of the Executive Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association Barristers.

Perry Colligan is a Senior Vice President with Bellwether Enterprise’s Los Angeles office. Prior to Bellwether Enterprise, Mr. Colligan was with Grandbridge Real Estate Capital and its predecessor in Los Angeles, Dwyer-Curlett & Co. Dwyer-Curlett & Co., was a Southern California based mortgage banking company founded in 1933. Mr. Colligan was a partner with that firm prior to its sale to Grandbridge in 2012. Mr. Colligan has been involved in commercial real estate for more than 35 years, with more than 30 years experience in mortgage banking. His prior experience included brokerage, development, asset management, acquisitions and entity level finance. During his real estate finance career, Mr. Colligan has structured and placed in excess of $3 billion in debt and equity in more than 350 finance transactions.
