Edward Campbell is an associate in our Affordable Housing practice group based in our Los Angeles office. Ed advises clients on general real estate matters and a wide range of regulatory and transactional matters involving the acquisition, financing, development, asset management, rehabilitation and preservation of affordable and multifamily housing developments using various HUD subsidy programs and FHA loan products.

Robin Hughes joined the Housing Partnership Network as its President and Chief Executive Officer in 2022. She brings over 35 years of experience in the affordable housing and community development sector. As HPN’s chief executive, Hughes leads a collective network of the nation’s leading affordable housing and community development nonprofits and oversees the vision, strategy, and sustainability of practitioner-driven peer exchange, policy, and innovation/R&D to spark systems change and social enterprises that solve for closing the gaps in the sector. Hughes also manages a portfolio of businesses co-designed and/or launched with network members, which currently include Housing Partnership Fund (CDFI), Housing Partnership Insurance Exchange, Framework Homeownership®, and the Charter School Financing Partnership. Prior to joining HPN, Hughes served as the President and CEO of Abode Communities for 26 years. Abode Communities is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit architect, developer, manager, and operator of service- enhanced affordable housing. Under her leadership, Hughes transformed the organization into one of the nation’s top developers and the premier provider of environmentally sustainable affordable housing in California. During Hughes’ tenure, Abode Communities developed more than 50 residential and mixed-use communities; created new affordable homes for over 12,000 California residents and provided a social safety net for its residents through Beyond Homes, the organization’s substantive resident services program. Early in her career, Hughes held positions in the private and public sectors including The Richmond Group of Companies, Citibank, the Community Development Commission of the County of Los Angeles, and the Office of the Mayor of the City of Los Angeles. Hughes received her master’s and bachelor’s degrees in public administration from the University of Southern California and certification from the executive program in Community Development at Harvard Kennedy School.

David Kersh is the Executive Director of the Carpenters/Contractors Cooperation Committee (C/CCC), a non-profit organization comprised of signatory contractors and the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters. For over 19 years, Mr. Kersh has been at the forefront of regional efforts to promote the creation of good paying jobs, fair competition and high quality construction industry standards. He is actively engaged in the areas of land use entitlement, labor compliance, economic development, transportation and contracting policies, where he has focused on ensuring that construction projects are built by top-quality contractors who generate good paying middle class jobs and rewarding training opportunities. Mr. Kersh graduated with a degree in History from UC Santa Barbara and completed additional studies in Madrid, Spain. Born in Lima, Peru, he lives in Culver City with his wife Pilar and his teenage children.

Ken Kahan is Founder and President of California Landmark (or "CLG"), a real estate development and investment company. Since its inception in 1988, California Landmark has invested in or developed all types of real estate from residential (including single family as well as low and high rise multi-family) to commercial (including hospitality, office and industrial). The company has developed in excess of 3,000,000 million square feet of various products. CLG has distinguished itself in Southern California as an innovative problem solver in both the design and development of dozens of multi-family communities. The firm is currently one of the largest private multi-family developers in Los Angeles with over 500 units in various stages of construction or development. Current projects include three high profile mixed use projects including the bw (Wilshire at Barrington), the hw (Hollywood Blvd. near Crescent Heights) and the LC (Larchmont at Melrose and Camerford). Past projects include modern townhomes and industrial "hard" lofts in the Marina Arts District, high-rise condominiums along the Wilshire corridor, California courtyard buildings in Westwood and Brentwood, art deco apartments in West Hollywood, and Mediterranean style villas in Century City. In the past ten years CLG has expanded its footprint of residential acquisitions by purchasing existing apartment communities throughout Southern California. Projects include townhouse condominium projects converted to rentals, middle income apartments in San Diego, renovations of 1950's apartment buildings in the San Fernando Valley and most recently, low income housing in the San Gabriel Valley. At the same time, the firm has expanded its portfolio to include industrial, office and flex space projects totaling several hundred thousand square feet. Ken is passionate about all aspect of urban planning and development. He is a frequent speaker on matters pertaining to entitlements, zoning, multi family/mixed use projects and urban development. California Landmark has been involved in the City of Los Angeles implementation ordinance of SB1818 and has delivered several mixed income housing projects throughout the region. A native of Los Angeles, Ken obtained both his bachelor of arts and juris doctor degrees from UCLA. Ken currently resides in West Los Angeles with his family.

As a Regional Manager for Polaris Pacific, Mike leads the firms’ efforts in Southern California, Arizona, and Hawaii to support strategic growth and provide exemplary service to industry leading development clients. His extensive consulting, project management, and sales experience spans the complete arc of the development process from pre-planning to sell out. By keeping abreast of constantly changing market and demographic trends, he has gained a reputation for being an essential resource in his clients’ efforts to maximize value, overcome obstacles, establish successful projects and forge new markets. Mike earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California (USC) and his Juris Doctor with concentrations in real property and corporate law from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. He is licensed in multiple states including CA, NY, MA, and WA and is a member of the Urban Land Institute. He has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, the NY Times, the NY Post, The Observer, The Real Deal, Real Estate Weekly, and Habitat Magazine and his original writings have been widely published in the trades including a column on Business Insider.

Michael Sabet is the Vice President and Co-Founder of Southern California based Strategic Legacy Investment Group, Inc. & subsidiaries (SLIG). Michael is valued for his vast knowledge in Real Estate Investments, Multifamily Real Estate Acquisitions, Real Estate Development Analysis, Financial Analysis and Investment Due Diligence. Michael leads a diverse team of project managers, assistant project managers and acquisition officers at SLIG. Michael specializes in multifamily development; value add multifamily acquisitions and property management. At SLIG, Michael has acquired and developed over $300 Million in real estate assets ranging from Multifamily, Office, Retail and Senior Living Communities and has been in the real estate industry for over 12 years. In his free time Michael enjoys playing sports and spending time with his family, he and his wife Jessica are expecting their first child in April 2019.

Kevin Farrell is President and COO of Fifield Realty Corp.. He joined Fifield as Senior Vice President and later became President of Fifield Realty Corp (the development arm of Fifield Companies). Kevin started with Steve Fifield in the 1980's as a construction manager and is currently overseeing FRP's national apartment acquisition program as well as new construction and adaptive reuse projects in Chicago and Los Angeles. Prior to joining Fifield, Kevin was a Vice President at the Related Companies, where he managed several rental and for-sale residential development projects, including Roosevelt Square, a 2,400-unit mixed-income residential community in Chicago's near West Side. Previously, Kevin managed due diligence activities for First Union Real Estate's property investment, acquisition, and redevelopment program in Texas, New Mexico and Colorado. Kevin has an MBA from Illinois Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois. Kevin recently served on the City of Chicago's Green Urban Design Task Force.

Adrian Goldstein is co-founder of CGI Strategies. He harnesses his company’s vision and oversees its growth with detailed strategic forethought and planning, he has helped CGI achieve a total asset value of $900 million USD. His experience includes 35 years in commercial real estate, specifically institutional finance and operations. His unique experience allows him to understand the perspective of the institutional lender and he is adept at structuring deals to leverage outstanding returns for institutions, funds and private individuals who invest in our projects. Prior to 2013 when Adrian and Gidi Cohen partnered to form CGI Strategies, Adrian was a managing partner at Gelt, Inc, a private real estate investment company. There he designed and implemented a business plan to acquire multi-family properties resulting in the acquisition and management of approximately 1,500 units in less than 3 years, valued at approximately $130,000,000 USD. Adrian has enjoyed many successes in his career. In the 90’s, he was a founding member of the Greenwich Group International, LLC, an investment advisory/banking firm, specializing in debt and equity financings, investments and institutional lending for real estate transactions. He quickly earned a reputation as a reliably effective deal-closer after his completion of the $225,000,000 USD recapitalization of an office building portfolio and a hotel in San Diego for Southwest Realty Partners with iStar Capital. Adrian left Greenwich to assist in the operation and liquidation of his family’s real estate developments at Weston Communities. There he managed the disposition of assets valued at $200,000,000 USD, including an apartment portfolio of 500 rental units that were sold to Archstone Smith, a public REIT for $125,000,000 USD. The start of Adrian’s career takes us back to 1982 with Cushman & Wakefield, a leading international commercial brokerage firm. In the late 80’s he co-founded a new investment group at Cushman & Wakefield specializing in institutional finance and sales.

Sam Simone serves as a Senior Managing Director in the Southern California region for Mill Creek Residential. In this role, Sam is responsible for pursuing new development opportunities, product design, and the pursuit of entitlements to meet all local jurisdictional requirements. Prior to this position with Mill Creek, Sam was a Managing Director in the company's Mid-Atlantic region, where he oversaw the development of Trilogy NoMa, a 603-unit community in Washington DC. Prior to joining Mill Creek Residential at its formation in August, 2010, Sam served at Trammell Crow Residential for 10 years as a Development Associate and later, Managing Director. Prior to joining Trammell Crow Residential, Sam was a Senior Real Estate Consultant with Arthur Andersen’s Real Estate Consulting Portfolio Services Group in New York City. In this role, Sam’s responsibilities included the management of due diligence and advisory service projects including both single-asset and portfolio real estate acquisitions, financings, depositions; commercial mortgage backed securities transactions (CMBS) valuations and “B-Piece” acquisitions, joint venture analysis valuation, and office and hotel development financial modeling/analysis for investment banks and large institutional investors. Sam received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the State University of New York in Business Administration/Finance.

Stephen Anderson joined CityView in 2014 and is responsible for identifying new acquisition and development opportunities. He has 11 years of experience in real estate acquisitions, entitlements and development. Prior to joining CityView, Anderson worked at the Redevelopment Agency of Los Angeles for five years where he managed the approval and financing for more than 1,000 units of market and affordable housing across Los Angeles. Prior to that, he worked at Macerich leading the financing, entitlement and expansion of the firm’s regional mall portfolio. Anderson also worked for Tishman Speyer on acquisitions and development in San Francisco. He has a Bachelor of Science in Planning and Development, Minor in Architecture and a Master of Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California.

Scé started her career in the 90s in Silicon Valley, designing and developing the 1st ecommerce sites for GM, HP, Blue Cross and others. Later she helped to pioneer smart phones at Palm. In 2007, Scé started her own company, Citizen, the 7th fastest growing company in Oregon which focuses on Internet of Things (IoT) products such as connected cars and connected health. While developing IoT products for these industries, she realized that there was a lack of enterprise-level Smart Apartment solution designed specifically for the Multi-Family-Home Industry. In 2014, she founded IOTAS, a smart apartment hardware and software technology company to help the MFH industry increase revenue, save costs, gather insights & monetize data from their portfolios. IOTAS has been recognized by Fortune, Wired, Gigaom, ABC, NBC, Chicago Tribune and more as the new way of automating apartments to attract tenants. Scé has spoken at Health 2.0, TechFest NW, WebVisions, NAA, and BISNOW on the impact of Internet of Things.
