Mr. Witte is Chairman and CEO of Related California, one of the largest developers of urban and multifamily housing in the state, overseeing both the affordable and market rate divisions. For the past 33 years, and since the founding of Related California, he has been responsible for the strategic direction of the company, overall management of the firm, pursuit of new development opportunities and oversight of planning, financing and construction of a development portfolio of over 18,000 residential units completed or under construction totaling more than $8.3 billion in assets, and over 5,200 affordable and 7,600 market rate units in pre-development. Prior to founding Related California in 1989, Mr. Witte served as Deputy Mayor for Housing and Neighborhoods under Mayor Art Agnos where he oversaw all housing, development and redevelopment activities for the City of San Francisco. He was Director of Housing and Economic Development under Mayor Dianne Feinstein and served as an appointed Commissioner of the San Francisco Housing Authority. Mr. Witte previously served as Executive Assistant to Assistant Secretary for Housing/Federal Housing Commissioner Lawrence B. Simons at HUD in Washington, as Legislative Director for the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials and with the Philadelphia Office of Housing and Community Development. Mr. Witte graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies and a Master in City Planning. He is Chairman of the Lusk Center for Real Estate Advisory Board at University of Southern California and was a nine year member of the Board of Overseers of the Graduate School of Design at University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Witte serves on the Advisory Boards of the Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics Policy at the Haas School of Business at University of California at Berkeley and the Orange County Human Relations Community Partners. In addition, Mr. Witte sits on the board of the Shelter Partnership in Los Angeles.

Carr, Jr., Chair of Real Estate Finance at The George Washington University School of Business. He was Director of the Center for Washington Area Studies and the Center for Real Estate and Urban Studies at that institution. Dr. Green also taught real estate finance and economics courses for 12 years at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he was Wangard Faculty Scholar and Chair of Real Estate and Urban Land Economics. He also has been principal economist and director of financial strategy and policy analysis at Freddie Mac. More recently, he was a visiting professor of real estate at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, and he continues to retain an affiliation with Wharton. He is or has been involved with the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, the Conference of Business Economists, the Center for Urban Land Economics Research, and the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties. Dr. Green also is a Weimer Fellow at the Homer Hoyt Institute, and a member of the faculty of the Selden Institute for Advanced Studies in Real Estate. He was recently President of the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association.

Real estate investment industry veteran Robert E. Hart is the founder, chief executive, and president of Los Angeles-based TruAmerica Multifamily, a vertically integrated multifamily investment firm with regional headquarters in Arlington, VA; Seattle, WA and Dallas, TX. Since its founding in 2013, TruAmerica under his leadership has become one of the most active multifamily investors in the United States and today has approximately $10.3 billion of assets under management. Hart is responsible for the phenomenal growth and national expansion of the firm’s value-add investment platform, which currently includes 46,000 units in 14 states. He has led TruAmerica to a top 50 ranking of the largest apartment owners in the United States the past four years by the National Multifamily Housing Council. With a career that spans nearly four decades, Bob is a recognized leader in the multifamily industry where he contributes his time and energy as a board member to a variety of industry organizations including the National Multifamily Housing Council and the Urban Land Institute. Named one of the most influential business leaders in Los Angeles by the Los Angeles Business Journal, he was also recently recognized by Real Estate Forum as the “Best of the Best Bosses” in the real estate industry. Understanding the value of giving back, Hart also generously gives of himself – both in time, talent and treasure – to a wide variety of charitable and academic organizations, raising tens of millions of dollars to better the lives of others in his community. For nearly 16 years, half as Chairman, Bob has been a member of the board of directors of Chrysalis, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a pathway for homeless and low-income individuals to find and retain employment in Los Angeles. Recognized for his professional and philanthropic contributions to elevate the human condition, he was celebrated by the City of Hope in 2017 with the Spirit of Life Award. He is also the proud recipient of the Humanitarian Leadership Award presented to him by the Alumni Association of his alma mater Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Previously Hart was senior vice president of portfolio management for global real estate investment management firm, Heitman Capital Management where engineered the turn-around and disposition of a $500 million property portfolio on behalf of pension funds, endowments and domestic and foreign lenders. Previously, he served as Director of Real Estate Marketing for Executive Life Insurance Company, where he was responsible for the orderly liquidation of more than $1 billion in real estate assets and securities. Hart is a sought-after interview by leading publications, and has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, National Public Radio, Bloomberg, The Los Angeles Times and innumerable industry and trade media outlets for his insights into the real estate markets. Tammy Harpster serves as the Chief Executive Officer for Roundtree Properties. Her real estate career includes co-founding LaTerra Development, a Southern California development company with more than 3,000 multifamily units under construction with an estimated value at completion of more than $2 billion. She also served as a fund manager for a real estate opportunity fund as well as an investment advisor for hundreds of millions of dollars of residential and commercial assets. Prior to LaTerra, she was Senior Vice President of Acquisitions at Phoenix Realty Group (PRG) and ran the firm’s San Diego Smart Growth Fund, a $90 million workforce housing opportunity fund with institutional investors such as CalPERS, Washington Mutual, and Northwestern Mutual. Ms. Harpster was also Assistant Vice President for Buchanan Street Partners, a leading real estate investment management firm, where she closed $300 million and managed over $600 million in commercial assets across four funds. Early in her career, she managed $125 million of pharmaceutical, biotech, and microelectronic construction development projects for DPR. Ms. Harpster holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Anderson School at UCLA and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Purdue University.

Henry Manoucheri’s successful real estate career spans over 30 years. Henry began his career at Marcus & Millichap in 1985 and became one of their top brokers, being recognized throughout California as well as nationally. He has brokered over $500,000,000 worth of transactions in apartment buildings, office buildings, industrial properties, shopping centers and land. After leaving M&M, Henry launched his own privately held acquisitions business, as principal. In less than six months the number of apartments owned grew 200% from 400 to 1,200 units. Having demonstrated a detailed knowledge of acquisitions, operations and construction, Henry was able to partner with Bank of America to acquire and renovate a large apartment community in Carlsbad, CA. The asset was acquired at a purchase price of $50,700,000 with $10,500,000 in equity from Bank of America and $1,200,000 of equity from high net-worth investors. After successfully renovating the property and enhancing day-to-day operations, Henry sold the property four years later for $78,000,000 generating a profit of nearly $9,500,000 for himself and his investors. From this point forward a career of buying significant, well located apartment communities in Southern California began, acquiring 100+ unit properties throughout Los Angeles, Inland Empire, Ventura and San Diego County. Trisail of Bank of America and Urdang Advisors completed 10 large transactions with Henry over a successful 10 year relationship with acquisitions ranging from 200 to 450 units on transactions of $20 million to $70 million. This provided the economic platform for Henry to grow the portfolio to over 4,000 units. Additionally, Henry continued improving and refinancing smaller apartment communities, delivering 400 – 800% total returns to his investors over time. Henry, supported by research and analysis, sensed a changing marketplace and began selling select assets at record prices and cap rates from 2006 to 2008. The vast majority of sales were not used in trade, but rather to fund future acquisitions during the next down-cycle and to provide returns to investors. With over 30 years of experience in the business, Mr Manoucheri has been able to successfully navigate the company through difficult times by focusing on value-add propositions, detailed operations, and favorable financing opportunities, thereby profiting even during down cycles. This devotion to discipline, hard work , continuous examination of operating results and a hands-on approach has enabled Henry to deliver an average return of 22% percent annually across numerous assets, based on cash flow, and a return of over 60% per annum on assets sold. Currently the company is engaged in expanding its current holdings by acquiring new, value-add opportunities from various sellers, troubled borrowers, and financial institutions alike. Henry holds a BS in Finance and Real Estate from Cal State, Northridge, CA.

Kesha Fisher is a Director in Greystar’s Newport Beach office who oversees the firm’s Southern California fund of owned and JV development assets that span from Ventura to Downtown San Diego. Her current lease-up portfolio is valued in excess of $1 billion, and the development pipeline on which she is responsible for guiding Greystar’s development team is valued nearly $5 billion. Kesha operates a diverse team across all walks of life, and her leadership and vision during the COVID-19 pandemic has allowed the assets under her control to keep pace performance-wise. She is also one of a handful of leaders at Greystar that is working on a committee to address racial equality within the company, and the industry as a whole.

Cory Creath, AIA, LEED AP, brings more than 30 years of commercial architectural design experience to AXIS/GFA Architecture + Design as one of the firm’s founders and Principal Architects. With particular expertise in multi-family residential and hospitality architectural design, Cory’s knowledge spans design, building, development, and operational issues for developers, designers, owners, and investors alike. More than simply an architectural designer, Cory assists clients with the business case for each development, helping stakeholders increase a project’s construction success. In addition to managing architectural design projects, Cory oversees AXIS/GFA’s business development initiatives and day-to-day operations, guiding the firm as an expert on the business-side of architectural firm management. Prior to the formation of AXIS/GFA, Cory was a Studio Director with Gensler’s San Francisco office. In his spare time, Cory enjoys sharing the outdoors with his family – particularly skiing California’s local mountains.

Carey is the Managing Principal of the Real Estate Industry. He has close to 20 years of experience providing accounting, assurance, tax, and consulting services to real estate industry owners, operators, family offices, developers and syndicators. Carey has a proven track record of helping clients build and retain capital by leveraging tax- and cost-saving strategies, including a wide range tax credits and incentives.

Ari Kahan began his career at Fortress Investment Group where he was responsible for underwriting and financial analysis across a wide range of asset classes. In 2012, Ari joined California Landmark as a consultant in the acquisitions and development departments, focusing on deal origination and the entitlement of several developments. In 2015, he launched the restaurant group Mainland Poke Shop, reinventing and popularizing the Hawaiian concept of Poke on a global scale, where he was recognized by Zagat in their 30 under 30 program for his efforts in this new restaurant field. Ari rejoined CLG full time in 2017 and has been instrumental in the company’s growth strategy since then. Today, Ari oversees the Acquisitions group and co leads the Development Group. He also serves on the firm’s IMC (Investment and Management Committee), helping guide the company into the 21st century. An LA native, Ari graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison with a BBA in Real Estate Finance. A pension for charity drives Ari to give back by serving on the boards of a charter school, a private Jewish high school and variety of food related charitable ventures. When not working, Ari enjoys both playing and watching hockey, skiing, cooking, traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Matt Miller is a prefabricated building systems consultant for Clark Pacific. After graduating from UCLA Matt formed Domicile Concrete, an artisanal precast concrete studio focused on residential interiors. Before joining Clark Pacific Matt was a General Manager for a manufacturer of specialty aftermarket hot rod automotive parts, Product Management for a large regional precast concrete manufacturer and taught English and Math at a charter high school for at-risk teens. Matt joined Clark Pacific as a Preconstruction Manager for Structural Systems and is now leading SoCal Business Development for Clark Pacific’s products: Infinite Façade, PARC, and the newly launched NetZERO Building Platform - a prefabricated system designed to meet the 2030 Challenge. Matt’s 20+ years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, and construction come together to help bring prefabricated solutions to owners and developers for better project outcomes. David Kersh is the Executive Director of the Carpenters/Contractors Cooperation Committee (C/CCC), a non-profit organization comprised of signatory contractors and the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters. For over 19 years, Mr. Kersh has been at the forefront of regional efforts to promote the creation of good paying jobs, fair competition and high quality construction industry standards. He is actively engaged in the areas of land use entitlement, labor compliance, economic development, transportation and contracting policies, where he has focused on ensuring that construction projects are built by top-quality contractors who generate good paying middle class jobs and rewarding training opportunities. Mr. Kersh graduated with a degree in History from UC Santa Barbara and completed additional studies in Madrid, Spain. Born in Lima, Peru, he lives in Culver City with his wife Pilar and his teenage children.

Alan D. Hearty is a partner in our Century City office and leads the firm's Telecommunications Infrastructure Group. Alan's practice focuses on real estate litigation and complex commercial litigation. Alan is an internationally experienced trial attorney and has chaired many jury trials, court trials and arbitrations to verdict over the course of his career. His successes include winning a multi-million-dollar judgment for the largest commercial landlord in California following a five-week jury trial and winning a multi-million-dollar award for a software company following a protracted multi-party arbitration. Alan is one of the preeminent attorneys in Los Angeles involved with luxury residential development and represents real estate owners, developers and investors on various legal issues relating to projects in Malibu, Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, Bel-Air, Beverly Hills and DTLA, among other areas. Alan's client base is extensive and includes real estate companies based in North America, Asia and Europe. Alan's commercial litigation experience includes representing clients involved in the real estate, banking, entertainment, apparel and telecommunications industries. Alan is a contributor to the firm's California Wireless Law Blog and serves on the Education Committee of the California Wireless Association (CalWA). Alan was raised and educated in Ireland. He attended University College Dublin and graduated magna cum laude with a combined degree in business and law. He is licensed to practice law in California and New York. He maintains strong relationships with the Irish-American community throughout the United States and currently serves on the Los Angeles Regional Advisory Board of the American Ireland Fund. Matthew Haas is SVP for Key Bank’s CDLI team covering CA, NM, AZ and NV. In this role, as a senior banker, Matthew works to advance community lending and investment opportunities with for profit and nonprofit developers of affordable housing for both LIHTC properties and workforce / missing middle housing. Prior to Key Bank, Matthew Haas was the Director of Investor Relations for the Western US at Berkadia Affordable Housing Tax Credit Solutions, a national syndicator of affordable housing credits for 2 ½ years and Director of Investor Relations and Fund Management for 8 years at Merritt Community Capital, a nonprofit CA-only syndicator. In these two positions, Matthew was able to raise over $600 million in equity for 63 properties financing over 5,000 units of affordable housing. Matthew has over 25 years of affordable housing and community development experience in three major markets of NY, Illinois and California having been employed by key organizations and companies involved in the planning, development and financing of affordable housing. He has held positions as Deputy Director of California Lending at the Low Income Investment Fund, a national CDFI; Multifamily Manager of LIHTC funds for Community Investments at Fannie Mae, a GSE; a VP and Client Manager for Community Development lending at Bank of America; a Senior Acquisitions Officer at National Equity Fund; and Senior Program Manager for Illinois Housing Development Authority. Matthew’s other professional positions have included Assistant Director of Senior Housing and Healthcare Development at St. Nicholas Neighborhood Preservation Corporation in Brooklyn, NY and Assistant Architect and Project Development Manager for the New York City’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development. Matthew has an M.S. in Urban Planning from Columbia University and a B.A. in Architecture / Environmental Design from UC Berkeley. Currently, Matthew serves on the Board of Clifford Beers Housing and is Board Treasurer of Community Health Councils LA as well as a Project Review Committee Member for Innovative Housing Opportunities.

Daryl J. Carter is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Avanath Capital Management, LLC, a California-based investment firm that acquires, renovates, and operates apartment properties, with an emphasis on affordable and workforce communities. Mr. Carter directs the overall strategy and operations of the Company. Since its formation in 2008, Avanath has acquired $2.5 billion of properties in 13 states in the U.S., comprising 12,000 apartment units. Avanath is vertically integrated and is an SEC registered investment advisor and an institutional fund manager, with capabilities that include acquisition sourcing and underwriting, construction, asset management, and on-site property management. Mr. Carter has 40 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. Previously, he was an Executive Managing Director of Centerline Capital Group. Mr. Carter became part of the Centerline team when his company, Capri Capital Finance, was acquired by Centerline in 2005. Mr. Carter co-founded and served as Co-Chairman of the Capri Capital family of companies. He was instrumental in building Capri to a diversified real estate investment firm with $8 billion in real estate equity and debt investments under management. Prior to Capri, Mr. Carter was Regional Vice President at Westinghouse Credit Corporation and a Second Vice President at Continental Bank. Mr. Carter holds a Master’s in Architecture and a Master’s in Business Administration, both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from the University of Michigan. Mr. Carter serves on the Visiting Committee of the MIT Sloan School of Management. In 2015, Mr. Carter received the MIT Sloan School Distinguished Alumni Award and served as the 2015 commencement speaker for the Sloan School MBA graduation. Mr. Carter is a Past Chairman of the National Multifamily Housing Council. Previously, Mr. Carter served as an independent director on the boards of the following companies: Catellus Development Corporation (CDX), Silver Bay Realty Trust (SBY), and Whitestone REIT (WSR).

Mr. Costa is responsible for overseeing all activities at Highridge Costa Housing Companies, which include Highridge Costa Housing Partners LLC (“HCHP”) and Highridge Costa Investors LLC (“HCI”). The companies specialize in the development, financing, construction and asset management of affordable and mixed-income housing for families and seniors throughout the U.S., utilizing low-income housing tax credits, as well as other types of public and private financing. The companies were created in 2010 as a joint venture between Mr. Costa, President and Chief Executive Officer and founder of the Companies’ predecessor firms, and Highridge Partners, a diversified, privately held investment firm that has acquired, developed and/or financed assets totaling more than $7 billion. Over the past 17 years, Mr. Costa and his team, under the companies’ various identities, have been responsible for developing and growing a portfolio of approximately 27,000 housing units in more than 275 communities throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico, all of which were financed using tax credits. Throughout a career spanning nearly three decades, Mr. Costa has supervised the development and financing of nearly 40,000 units of multifamily affordable and market-rate housing. Through his extensive utilization of both federal and various state tax credit programs over the years, Mr. Costa has gained a wealth of specialized knowledge of the intricacies of tax credit financing and syndication. He is considered an industry expert in tax credit-based asset management, including the myriad of compliance issues associated with managing tax credit properties. Mr. Costa was named the Freddie Mac Multifamily Builder of the Year in 2000 and the 1999 Builder of the Year by Multifamily Executive magazine. He is currently a member of the NAHB Multifamily Leadership Board, and also serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Community Financial Resource Center for Los Angeles, one of California’s most active nonprofit CDFIs. He also holds the CAASH (Certified Active Adult Specialist in Housing) designation from the NAHB. Mr. Costa earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo, and also holds a general contractor's license from the State of California.

Sierra Atilano joined BRIDGE Housing as Executive Vice President – Head of Development and Southern California in October 2022. In this new role, Ms. Atilano is responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of BRIDGE’s real estate development activities across all regions, and provides day-to-day leadership in Southern California. During her career of 25+ years, Ms. Atilano has developed more than 3,130 apartment homes in 17 cities across three states, and one million square feet of commercial retail. Prior to BRIDGE, she was Chief Executive Officer of Skid Row Housing Trust, a respected developer, manager and operator of permanent supportive housing for formerly homeless individuals in the Los Angeles area. Ms. Atilano began her career at one of the largest Real Estate Investment Trusts, Lincoln Property Company, where she gained a firm foundation in leadership and portfolio oversight, then joined a construction company specializing in multifamily new construction and rehab projects. She subsequently worked for several family-owned developers such as Cal-American, Korda Construction and Miller Family Companies, where her unique experience in project and portfolio management earned her a reputation as a problem solver and an asset to the finance and development teams. Later, at Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation and Watt Residential, she applied her expertise in finance and portfolio management to affordable housing. Over the last 12 years, Ms. Atilano honed her asset management and development expertise working for developers AMCAL Residential and Skid Row Housing Trust.

Malcolm Johnson is the Founder and CEO of Langdon Park Capital, a real estate investment management company that sources opportunities and creates value through local expertise, strategic relationships with development partners and corporate tenants and a deep understanding of the communities in which its real estate investments are located. Johnson directs the overall strategy and operations of Langdon Park Capital. Johnson has 16 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. Previously, he was an Executive Director in JPMorgan’s Commercial Real Estate group, where he led the firm’s efforts on a new platform that deployed equity into affordable and workforce housing projects in markets across the country. Johnson joined JPMorgan in 2012 as the senior coverage banker in the firm’s Real Estate Banking group in Los Angeles, where he underwrote and arranged $3 billion in debt financing for institutional real estate developers and investment firms. From 2006-2012, Johnson was a vice president in the Commercial Real Estate Banking group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Prior to his banking career, Johnson played professional football with the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers from 1999-2003. Johnson has been a guest lecturer for the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University, UCLA Anderson School of Business, University of Southern California Marshall School of Business, the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, the National Football League and numerous schools and non-profit organizations in South Los Angeles and his native Washington, DC. Johnson serves on the Sustaining Board for the UCLA Ziman Center for Real Estate, Advisory Board for the Fitzgerald Institute for Real Estate at the University of Notre Dame, Board of Trustees for the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and the Corporate Advisory Board for The Brotherhood Crusade, a non-profit organization supporting low-income South Los Angeles residents. Johnson received his Masters in Business Administration from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University and his Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business.

More recently, Daniel worked primarily as a leader in multifamily and hospitality design, though his background includes experience in all aspects of the architectural process. Daniel has successfully built teams, led studios, and continuously strives for design excellence. Daniel received his bachelor’s degree in architecture from Cornell University and is an adjunct professor for the USC Master of Real Estate Development program. He is a dynamic and sought-after industry speaker, contributing thought leader, a full member of ULI, and sits on the Multifamily Council at NAHB.

Ed Miller has developed and built large master planned residential and commercial projects, from 1st time buyer housing to multi-million dollar housing tracts including apartments, office, commercial shopping and mixed use developments, hotels, marinas, assisted care facilities and over 2,500 units of apartments, condo’s and single family homes. Mr. Miller has worked with many city, state and federal agencies including HUD, Port Authorities, Army Corps of Engineers, Coastal authorities and a variety of environmental agencies. Mr. Miller has provided a wide range of specialized services to his clients including: property entitlements, general plan amendments, project master planning, project repositioning, sales and leasing, marketing, and general contractor/builder services. Mr. Miller has provided real-estate services for such companies as Mitsui, Weyerhauser, Honeywell, Namco Capital, Northrop, and MetLife. Most were developments owned or taken back from failed developer/owners. Commercial Real Estate specializing in commercial and investment real-estate with emphasis on office and shopping center leasing and sales. In 1983 Mr. Miller took a position as V.P. of Development with the Carley Capital Group with whom he had done business while at the City of St.Paul and Coldwell Banker. He took the position in Carley’s Los Angeles office. In 1984 he structured a leveraged buy out of Carley Pacific and became a 50% principal and President of a merged firm now known as Cal-Coast Development. In 1986 he restructured the company with Weyerhauser and acquired 100%.

Alex Valente serves as a Senior Vice President for the Los Angeles Business Unit of Trammell Crow Company. Alex focuses on all multifamily opportunities within Greater Los Angeles for High Street Residential, TCC's residential subsidiary. In his role, Alex is responsible for identifying new development and investment opportunities, debt and equity partnerships, entitlements and community outreach, design, construction and leasing. Prior to joining TCC, Alex worked for The Ratkovich Company, a Los Angeles-based developer. Alex focused his time working on three Ratkovich assets: The Hercules Campus at Playa Vista, a 28-acre 530,000-square-foot creative office and studio campus, 5900 Wilshire, a 30-story 491,000-square-foot office building in Miracle Mile, and The Alhambra, a 1,000,000-square-foot office campus. Prior to The Ratkovich Company, Alex worked for Thomas Safran & Associates, a Los Angeles-based affordable housing developer. Alex focused his efforts on the development of The Renaissance at City Center, a 150-unit multifamily project in Carson, California and Canyon Creek, a 75-unit tax-credit, senior multifamily project in Calabasas, CA.

Marika Erdely is the founder and CEO of Green EconoME, a full-service Energy Consulting and Construction Company located in Santa Monica, CA. Our mission is to provide clients with optimum energy efficiency and water-saving solutions for building sustainability. Marika had been a financial professional for over thirty years. In her last position, Marika held the role of CFO/VP at New Millennium Homes, a major home builder and land developer of The Oaks of Calabasas. Marika acquired her Contractors License B (#1001368) in 2007 and C-10 in 2018. In 2009, Marika founded Green EconoME and became a LEED AP BD+C (Building Design and Construction). Marika became a Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) in 2016. Marika holds an MBA from Pepperdine University and a BA in Business Economics from UCSB. She is a frequent speaker on energy legislation and efficiency. Marika was nominated as LABJ’s Women CEO of the year in 2019.

Benjamin Arcia received a Master’s in Urban Design from the University of Miami School of Architecture in 2011. His work has involved various facets of the built environment, including prefab housing, carpentry, and landscape architecture. In addition to his hands-on experience, Benjamin’s skillset includes digital 3d modeling and rendering, visual presentation, and construction documentation. Since 2013, Benjamin has worked with Landscape Architect David McCullough, consulting on the planning, design, and construction of a variety of projects that include mixed-use infill, affordable housing, commercial repositioning, and transit-oriented development. Past clients have included Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Gafcon, and Malick Infill Development. Half-Cuban, half-Nicaraguan, Benjamin is bilingual and bicultural. Between late 2018 and early 2020, Benjamin took a sabbatical to travel from Colombia to Patagonia and volunteered on organic and biodynamic farms throughout. An avid cyclist and backcountry trekker, his past hobbies include downhill longboard racing, competitive sailing, and martial arts. Benjamin and his fiancé live with their cat and dog in downtown San Diego. A little known fact about Benjamin is he holds a second-degree black belt in Taekwondo.

Neil Shekhter founded NMS in 1988 on the principle of creating strong asset returns through superior management and investing in core locations with long-term growth. On these principles NMS began building its portfolio of properties by acquiring and repositioning poorly performing multi-family assets. Through hands-on management and capital improvements, these properties now enjoy dramatic increases in net operating income along with high occupancy rates. Mr. Shekhter’s belief is that quality starts from day one. With that in mind, he began to immerse himself in the development and construction of properties. As part of his philosophy of personalized management, Mr. Shekhter has been actively involved in every aspect of the company, from acquisitions to development to the construction of his projects, while maintaining the day-to-day operation of his existing portfolio. Mr. Shekhter also advises his three sons, Alan, Alexander, and Adam Shekhter, who along with CEO Scott Walter founded Santa Monica based WS Communities in January 2017. WS Communities is a real estate development firm that specializes in the acquisition, entitlement, and development of multifamily and mixed-use properties in Southern California. WS Communities’ projects include luxury and affordable residential units with ground floor retail and office spaces located in Santa Monica and West Los Angeles, California.

Srinivas Yalamanchili is a Principal at Positive Investments, a diversified real estate investment and property management company founded in 1976 and based in Los Angeles, CA. He has extensive experience in the acquisition, financing and management of apartment buildings which is Positive’s focus, but also has experience in other property types including industrial, office and hotels. Positive is also now beginning construction on their first new construction multifamily development. Srinivas holds a Master of Real Estate Development and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. He has also been a licensed California Real Estate Broker since 2004.

Chris Tourtellotte serves as a Managing Director of LaTerra. Chris is responsible for overseeing the Development group, sourcing and closing new acquisitions, sourcing debt and equity for LaTerra’s projects, and growing LaTerra’s apartment and mixed use development platform, which currently includes over 3,000 apartment units either under construction or in the pipeline. Prior to joining LaTerra, Mr. Tourtellotte spent 7 years at Prudential Global Investment Management (PGIM), a global real estate private equity investment fund manager with over $50 billion of gross assets under management. Most recently at PGIM, Mr. Tourtellotte held the position of Director, overseeing all development activity west of the Mississippi River with over 20 development deals at a total cost basis greater than $1 billion. Prior to Mr. Tourtellotte’s role overseeing West Coast development, he spent 5 years on the West Coast acquisitions team where he worked on closing over $1 billion in acquisitions across all property types (multifamily, office, retail, industrial, and hotels) and all layers of the capital stack (senior debt, subordinate debt, preferred equity and equity). Chris co-founded SnowGlobe Music Festival, which was ultimately acquired by MTV. SnowGlobe is a world-renowned annual music festival (featuring the largest musical acts in the world) drawing over 50,000 attendees over the three day event. Mr. Tourtellotte was responsible for raising the capital, and structuring and negotiating the investment documents prior to the inaugural 2011 festival. Mr. Tourtellotte was selected for Real Estate forum’s 50 under 40 list. Mr. Tourtellotte holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration (Cum Laude) with a double concentration (Finance & Accounting) and a minor in Real Property Development from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, CA.

Patty serves as JPI’s Executive Vice President and Regional Managing Partner of the Western Region. She will serve as a pillar of our people-first culture with a focus on innovative problem solving, departmental collaboration, and professional development for her region. Patty also is responsible for all components of the region’s operations including site acquisition, development, design management, construction, capital markets, portfolio management, and disposition. She serves as a member of JPI’s executive leadership team and investment committee. Patty brings more than twenty years of leadership experience in real estate development and management having previously held positions with The Resmark Companies, SunCal Companies, and Fremont Investment & Loan. Outside of the office, Patty serves her community as an Executive Mentor and is on the Real Estate Advisory Board at the University of California, Irvine Paul Merage School of Business. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Magna Cum Laude from the University of California, Irvine.

Bryan Schellinger joined NorthMarq in 2020 as Managing Director - Investment Sales to help expand the firm’s multifamily platform in Los Angeles. He is a seasoned commercial real estate professional with more than 10 years of experience, who has closed in excess of $1 billion in transaction volume to date. As a disciplined investment advisor, Bryan uses his extensive market knowledge to help his clients make well-informed acquisition and disposition decisions and his transactional experience include core, boutique luxury, value-add, and land development sites in both urban infill and secondary markets throughout Los Angeles County. Given his extensive experience and commitment to the business, he was recognized by the Real Estate Forum as an Emerging Leader in the multifamily industry. Prior to joining NorthMarq, he was First Vice President of Investments at Marcus & Millichap and was a key team member on one of the top-performing teams in the country; he has also held positions at NKF Capital Markets (formerly Apartment Realty Advisors) and Madison Partners. Bryan received a Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in finance and real estate from the University of Colorado at Boulder and he is a licensed real estate salesperson in the state of California.

Priyesh is responsible for originating new investment opportunities as well managing the overall bridge lending platform for Hankey Capital inclucing originations, underwritting, and servicing. Priyesh is the managing principal and member of the firm’s investment committee. Over a nearly 20-year career in commercial real estate investment, Priyesh has worked for real estate private equity groups like the Carlyle Group and CityView as well as real estate family offices like the Hankey Group, the Fifteen Group, and Stuho. Priyesh has direct involvement in over 150 investments with a combined capitalization exceeding $3 billion. Priyesh is proficient in land entitlements, multifamily residential, retail, and hotel property types. His investment experience spans most metro markets nationally but has most recently focused on California coastal and metro submarkets. Priyest holds a Master of Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California (MRED 2012) and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Irvine (2002).
