DICE Southwest '19
DICE Southwest | Data Center Investment Conference & Expo, Southwest
Join us for our second annual Data Center Investment Conference & Expo (DICE) Southwest in Phoenix!
Once a viable alternative to the more expensive California market, Phoenix has become the pinnacle of the Southwest data center landscape. Currently at 1.61M SF, the Phoenix market is currently poised to enter the top five in the U.S. Nearby submarkets in Mesa and Chandler are already emerging as hotspots for lower real estate and power costs.
In the first half of 2018, Phoenix saw 136.5 MW under construction, driven by demand from cloud providers, hyperscalers, and a well-established retail industry. The metropolis is indeed gaining momentum as a favorable business hub for colos, with demand bringing new players into the field--Digital Realty, QTS, CyrusOne, and Iron Mountain, to name a few. Optimistic about data center demand, companies are already securing property for future developments in the coming years.
Overall, growth in the Phoenix Data Center Market can be attributed to a few factors:
-Low Power Costs
-Low Natural Disaster Risk
-Favorable Business Climate
-Newly-Implemented 10-Year Tax Breaks
Topics will Include:
1. How will increased power density and cooling capacity impact site selection?
2. As end-user demands shift, how will the growing use of outsourced IT services drive demand for off-premise data centers and onto the cloud?
3. How will the Internet of Things and AI impact data center demand?
4. With deployments becoming more dense and compact, what are hyperscalers and cloud providers doing to be more sustainable?
5. What do the growth of micro data centers, 5G and Edge Computing innovations mean for today’s data center requirements?
6. How are cloud computing platforms and hyperscalers expanding their footprint in Phoenix and its submarkets?
