America is doubling down on semiconductor investment at a national, state and a local level. CHIPS Act has been a major catalyst in the recent semiconductor real estate boom, but that is not the only Act that has passed in recent years showing support from the Government. In 2021, the United States Innovation and Competition Act (USICA) was passed, which provides funding for FY2022-FY2026 to support U.S. semiconductor manufacturing, research and development, and supply chain security. This support from the very top has propelled semiconductor real estate and transformed communities across America.
At this event, we will discuss semiconductor real estate and discuss the most significant pain points for semiconductor companies when looking for commercial real estate as well as the opportunities that are still available in this booming sector.
What our all-star panelists will discuss:
- Site selection (proximity to power, water transportation and skilled labor)
- Regulations (managing chemical, radiation exposure and electrical hazards)
- Development and design
- Funding and Capital Markets

Presentation: State of the US Semiconductor Market
Supply chain leaders are beginning to transition from a previously globalized
supply network to a more localized or regionalized network to proactively
improve business agility and ensure growth despite economic and business
uncertainties. The need for greater resiliency, agility and collaboration are key
drivers shaping supply chain strategies in times of uncertainty. This opening
keynote will review US localization trends and potential challenges supply chain
leaders face in a growing and complex Semiconductor marketplace, and its impacts on the data center industry.

Development, Design, Power & Economic Impact of Semiconductor Facilities
The Phoenix area is becoming a global semiconductor manufacturing hub and the industry has had a significant impact on the area, including job creation and economic growth. Semicon manufacturing is one of the most energy-intensive industrial processes due to the high energy consumption of the complex manufacturing that takes place within the facilities. In addition to electricity, fabs also require significant amounts of water, especially ultra-pure water, which is energy-intensive in and of itself. Given these challenges, how are semiconductor manufacturing companies looking to develop, design, build and power their fabs?
