Marimba Milliones is president and CEO of the Hill Community Development Corporation (Hill CDC) in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania's historic Hill District neighborhood. She is a practitioner of and national thought leader in equitable development. Her work is focused on assuring equity in urban-core redevelopment involving low-moderate income residents, communities of color and cities. Milliones advocates for and utilizes intentional planning and development practices that honor people, place, culture and the market. She believes in win-win models. To this end, Milliones led negotiations of a community benefits agreement with the National Hockey League's Pittsburgh Penguins to assure equitable development for a historic tract of land in the heart of fast-growing Pittsburgh. The establishment of a city-wide affordable housing task force, and the largest tax financing district in the history of the City of Pittsburgh were sealed as a part of the negotiations. Milliones' policy advocacy over the years has resulted in a more equitable approach to development throughout the City. She has designed processes that assure that marginalized communities can be self-determinative in real estate development including community-level review and approval of projects requiring public subsidy. Her organization has pipelined and is preparing over 400 renters for homeownership; and recently launched a residential and commercial community land trust. Most notable is Milliones' work towards building a Black cultural and commercial neighborhood district anchored by the restoration of the historic New Granada Theater, new office space and storefronts, and 40 units of artist-preference affordable housing. The $55M+ mixed-use development effort will be an iconic example of how culture is a surefire economic development tool. Milliones has received numerous recognitions and has served on numerous boards including the transition team for Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf's Department of Community and Economic Development. Mr. Walsh is Chief Operating Office and Principal with Rugby Realty Co., Inc. He manages all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Pittsburgh Portfolio. He joined Rugby in 2003 after a successful career developing CVS/pharmacy drug stores across the country for Armstrong Development, headquartered in Pittsburgh. Born and raised in Pittsburgh he has a Masters in Public Policy and Management with a concentration in Urban and Regional Economic Development from Carnegie Mellon University.

Over the past thirty years, visionary entrepreneur Jim Scalo has built one of the largest integrated real estate businesses in Western Pennsylvania, Burns & Scalo Real Estate Services, Inc. (BSRES), which currently owns, manages, and provides third-party real estate services to more than 5 million square feet of commercial real estate assets. Following his graduation with a degree in Marketing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in the early 80’s, Jim Scalo began his career as a manager of a small portfolio of rental investment properties owned by Burns & Scalo, a roofing company started in 1956 by his father and a partner. Soon, he expanded that residential rental business by taking on the management of larger properties and acting as a commercial developer. He was later named Director of Development, and in recognition of his contributions to growing the firm, in 1994 he was named President and CEO of Burns & Scalo Real Estate Services, Inc. – a company for which he now owns 100% interest. Jim Scalo has been largely self-taught in the real estate business, a fact that has served him well in building his current service and investment businesses exponentially. He often states that people hire BSRES due to the invaluable experience the firm has gained through investing and managing real estate with his own capital - as an owner – a fact that few other real estate service companies can claim in offering real value for their clients. Jim was a pioneer in the early development of ‘flex’ space, a combination of office and warehouse space joined together to create efficiency. William (Bill) Andersen is a Shareholder and Director of the law firm Sherrard, German & Kelly, P.C., where he is a member of the firm’s Real Estate, Corporate Services and Construction practice groups. Bill has extensive experience counseling companies and individuals in connection with all aspects of real estate transactions, from representing buyers and sellers in acquisitions, dispositions and sale-leaseback transactions, to representing landlords, tenants, developers and shopping center owners in the drafting and negotiation of ground leases, built-to-suit leases, leases for retail and office space, solar leases, lease workouts, easements, declarations, and covenants, conditions and restrictions. Prior to joining Sherrard, German & Kelly, P.C, Bill was Senior Legal Counsel at Realty Income Corporation, an S&P 500 real estate investment trust (REIT), where he assisted the REIT in the ownership, management, and day-to-day operations of its commercial real estate portfolio, including leasing, dispositions, acquisitions, due diligence, disputes, and risk management. In his free time, Bill enjoys going on adventures with his wife, Chrissy, and their two children, Quinn (6) and Carter (4).

Ed Woodbury is responsible for leading the firm’s executive management team and executing on the vision and strategic direction set by the firm. Mr. Woodbury has more than 30 years of experience in the real estate industry in numerous executive positions focused on the successful development of $3 billion of urban mixed-use projects. Ed is a registered architect and practiced for seven years in the Chicago office of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill in various senior design and management positions. He also held senior positions in Oxford Properties and BCE Development (now Brookfield) before joining McCaffery Inc. Ed is also active in his community, having served on his zoning board, plan commission and is a former Trustee and President of the village in which he resides. Mr. Woodbury received a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from the University of Illinois.

Steve Mazza was born and raised in Sheraden, Pennsylvania. Steve brings more than 30 years of building trade experience as well as community relationship building through the projects he has worked on, and the committees and organizations for which he serves. As a Council Representative for the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters (Formerly Keystone + Mountain + Lakes Regional Council of Carpenters), Steve works firsthand with contractors, politicians, engineers, architects, union leadership and the membership to achieve overall goals for projects and the community. Steve has been actively involved in politics and community service throughout his entire career, with a significant focus on jobs and building the region. Steve is one of the Vice Presidents of the Pittsburgh Building & Construction Trades Union and is currently the Chairman of the Pittsburgh Construction Tax Fraud Task Force. He has held several notable positions as a member of the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters and Local 432, including Vice President, Recording Secretary, and Delegate. Before rising through the ranks and becoming a Council Representative, Steve worked on many significant union projects, including PNC Park, Heinz Field, and the Heinz History Center. Steve is a long-time member of the Allegheny County Labor Council and is the Parade Chairman of the annual Pittsburgh Labor Day Parade, coordinating with 75,000 union members and families. He is an appointed representative of Pittsburgh’s Land Bank, a Rebuilding Together Board Member, and a 20th Ward Committee Person for more than 15 years.

Thomas Link is the Chief Strategy Officer and directs the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh's (URA) Business Solutions Department and Business Expansion and Attraction functions. Tom’s team executes the URA’s work to encourage job creation, make place making investments to for business startup, expansion, and attraction for the city of Pittsburgh; with a goal of ensuring inclusion and equity across this work. Tom has nearly 18 years of economic development professional experience with the URA; having worked with a range of economic development financing mechanisms—including direct business and commercial real estate lending, New Markets Tax Credits, PA Tax Credit programs, tax diversion tools, and more. With Tom’s leadership, the URA team made nearly 80 direct investments annually in small businesses and neighborhood commercial real estate developments across the city of Pittsburgh in 2019. The URA’s Micro Enterprise Loan program, operated by the URA, bolsters the URA’s strategy to promote opportunities for historically disadvantaged populations who have not had ready access to business startup and expansion capital, including minority and women entrepreneurs. This program received the Market Confidence Award from Neighborhood Allies at the 2nd Annual Healthy Neighborhoods Celebration in November 2018. Tom provides principal support to the URA’s business expansion and attraction efforts. Tom coordinates frequently with regional stakeholders, including the City of Pittsburgh, InnovatePGH, local universities (including Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh), the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance, Allegheny County Economic Development, the Governor’s Action Team, and others on direct customer engagement services for businesses seeking to expand and locate in the city of Pittsburgh. Tom was among a core team of economic development professionals who led Pittsburgh’s bid for the Amazon HQ2 opportunity (Pittsburgh’s proposal was ultimately short listed by Amazon). Tom serves as Chairperson of the Board of Directors for Pittsburgh Urban Initiatives (a URA affiliate New Markets Tax Credit Community Development Entity), is a member of the InvestPGH’s (emerging CDFI) Board of Directors, and he is a member of the Northside Community Development Fund’s (a local Community Development Finance Institution) Loan Review Committee. Jonathon is a Director of Acquisitions at SomeraRoad, helping lead the firm’s acquisition and asset management efforts across the value-add and opportunistic verticals. A member of the Executive Committee, Jon oversees the Nashville headquarters and all of SomeraRoad’s investment activities within the growing market. Jon also leads the firm’s efforts in Pittsburgh, the Washington DC-metro area, and Las Vegas. Prior to SomeraRoad, Jon was a Vice President at Sovereign Capital Management, a San Diego-based firm focused on investing in distressed commercial real estate. At Sovereign, he led the acquisition and asset management of a $6 billion Tenant-In-Common portfolio with 150+ properties nationwide. Jon received a B.S. in Business Administration and Finance from Point Loma Nazarene University. Originally hailing from San Diego, Jon and his wife Amanda now reside in Nashville, TN

Mr. Henger is the Regional Manager and Geographic Discipline Lead for Colliers Engineering & Design (formerly Maser Consulting) in the firm’s Pittsburgh, PA office. His responsibilities include leading the company’s strategic plan to expand services, employees, and clients geographically while providing increased benefit to its public and private clients within the Western/Central Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio, and West Virginia regions. Mr. Henger’s experience encompasses working on a diversity of infrastructure projects, ranging in size from large-scale to smaller client-critical projects. The various market sectors with which he has worked include private, industrial, commercial, retail, hotel, local/county government, K-12 schools, state government, higher educational, correctional institutions Water/Wastewater and transportation.
