Josh Henderson is the award-winning Executive Chef and founder of the acclaimed Huxley Wallace Collective. Known as a visionary and food entrepreneur, Josh has spent his career cooking in kitchens and unique locations across the country, more recently established a group of highly successful restaurants in the Pacific Northwest. Properties he has led from concept to execution include: Westward, a contemporary water-inspired restaurant, bar, and oyster bar located on the shores of Lake Union; fan favorite Quality Athletics, a full service sports bar and restaurant located in Seattle’s Pioneer Square; Great State Burger, a take on the classic burger joint serving grass-fed organic beef, organic milk shakes, Yukon Gold crinkle cut fries, fresh American cheese, lettuce and tomato; Saint Helens, an American style brasserie located along the Burke Gilman trail in the Laurelhurst neighborhood; and Kiki Ramen, a South Lake Union ramen bar offering classic ramen favorites, sides, and a full service sake and cocktail bar. In 2007 Josh developed and grew the Skillet Group before stepping away in 2013. Josh is leading five new restaurant concepts set to open in 2016, including his new home base Vestal, located in Seattle’s vibrant South Lake Union. Josh received the Star Chefs Rising Star Award in 2009, was named the most influential person of 2010 by Seattle Magazine, and was recognized in Puget Sound Business Journal’s 2012 top 40 under 40. He is actively involved in the food world, leading discussions locally and across the country, and participating in events as highlighted chef or food expert. Josh is also involved in supporting a number of local and national nonprofit organizations including the No Kid Hungry campaign based out of Washington DC. He published his first cookbook in July 2012, The Skillet Cookbook – A Streetfood Manifesto.

Michael Hazinski joined Retail Properties of America, Inc. in 2007 and currently serves as Vice President, Director of Investments. In this role, Mr. Hazinski is responsible for both acquisitions and dispositions in the Western Division. Since joining RPAI, Mr. Hazinski has executed $3.0 billion in transactions encompassing acquisitions, dispositions, debt financing and joint venture equity. Prior to his current position, Mr. Hazinski was responsible for the asset management of RPAI’s institutional joint venture portfolio; he was also active in the asset management of the Company’s office and industrial portfolio. Before joining RPAI, Mr. Hazinski worked as an asset manager for closed end funds managed by Inland Real Estate Investment Corporation. Mr. Hazinski received his B.S. in Finance from the University of Dayton and an M.B.A. in Finance and Economics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Jim Alexander joined Merlone Geier in 2011. His primary responsibility is to serve as project manager for owned assets in the Washington and Oregon area. Before joining Merlone Geier, from 2009 to 2011, Mr. Alexander was Director of Real Estate for Kimco Realty Corp. focusing on the leasing and redevelopment of shopping centers in the Washington and Oregon area. From 2006 to 2009 he was Vice President of Opus Real Estate, a national developer, with emphasis on shopping center development. From 1999 to 2006, Mr. Alexander was Vice President of Real Estate with Madison Marquette in which he oversaw the leasing and redevelopment of their Washington and Oregon shopping center portfolio. Mr. Alexander graduated in 1988 with a MBA from the University of Washington and also holds an undergraduate degree in business from the University of Washington. He is an active participant in the International Council of Shopping Centers and a licensed real estate broker. He is resident in the firm’s Washington office.

Maria has successfully managed the development of 65+ mixed use residential housing projects totaling over $1 billion worth of real estate development projects in Seattle. Ms. Barrientos has been named one of the most influential urban-infill developers in Seattle, a 2015 Puget Sound Business Journal “Woman of Influence”, and is categorized by her peers as innovative, thoughtful, and creative - creating housing that incorporates many forward-looking trends. Maria has also been called a “solution-based” community developer by many. Maria also spends considerable amounts of time as a volunteer with numerous community-based organizations, particularly on Capitol Hill, Uptown, and the University District. As a company, Barrientos Ryan has a unique niche in Seattle, developing in the dense neighborhoods surrounding downtown focused on place-making and customizing their projects to meet the needs of the people who will live in the homes they build.

Frank Kennard obviously wasn’t the first Visual Merchandiser to cross over to the dark side, but he has now seen the light, and become quite successful at merging the two related careers. It was only a matter of time after working on the sales floor of a department store in college, that he thought there was a better way to organize, present, and enhance men’s shirts and ties. Be-friending the overworked Visual Merchandisers made him their best friend and secret weapon. Now many years later, he continues to be-friend the Visual Merchandisers by creating the overall environment, including the shell, fixtures and furnishings to help identify, and message some of the more notable brands in retail, such as Abercrombie and Fitch, Eddie Bauer and Tommy Bahama.

MJ is an expert at translating brands into impactful customer moments. She has spent her career studying consumers and the drivers that impact their decisions. MJ creates a center of gravity on each project, leading teams, and clients through an innovative process that blends brand stories, business goals, and consumer insights into memorable experiences. At her core, she is a listener, opportunity-seeker, and choreographer crafting ideas into environments that delight. She has collaborated with some of the world’s most notable brands, including Nordstrom, Harrods, Anthropologie, and Hyatt, to name a few.

Since joining Abbott in 2003, Doug has been a key player in many of the company’s ongoing business development, operations, growth, and performance efforts. An ardent champion of Abbott’s core values, he empowers teams to incorporate our guiding principles throughout their day-to-day activities. With a construction career that spans over three decades, Doug frequently shares his wealth of knowledge and perspective at various industry speaking engagements. He is also committed to supporting local communities—from implementing Abbott’s Safety for a Cause program to allocating resources to assist many charitable causes such as Food Lifeline and the Mary Bridge Children’s Foundation. Doug received his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management and Business Administration from the University of Washington.

For 25-years Bill has been involved with developing solutions in acoustics for Multi-Family, Retail, Office, Hotel and Resort design. His experience in building value to a project by creating the right atmosphere with acoustics has led to success at Northwest properties like Lincoln Square, Pacific Place, and residential projects like Tower 12 and the new Hyatt Recency at Southport. “Creating a sense of place through the right acoustics is essential for a quality product to succeed.”
