Great Causes: IREM Supports the Troops
IREM Houstons holiday drive to support troops stationed in Afghanistan resulted in 200 care packages (weighing over 2,100 pounds). They were chock full of snacks, first aid, stationery, games, iTunes gift cards, books, socks, stockings, and hand-written notes from IREM members and tenants in their buildings. Overall, it cost nearly $15k, and volunteers packed and sorted packages for a week. And we know it was all worth it when the chapter received this picture from a happy recipient. IREM worked with the West Point Parents Club to arrange donations, and since fundraising nearly doubled this year, it was also able to contribute $2,000 to the Texas Sentinels Foundation.
