It's a Process
Yesterday we posed this riddle: Four people need to cross a bridge in 17 minutes in the middle of the night. The bridge will only hold two people at a time, and someone must cross back with the flashlight so everyone can see their way. Tom can cross in one minute, John can cross in two, Sally needs five minutes, and slow-poke Conner takes 10 minutes to cross. If two people cross together, they go as fast as the slower person. How can they get everyone to the other side in 17 minutes or less? Seacoast Commerce Bank SVP Jim Wilkie was the first to come up with the solution: Tom and John cross first (two minutes). Tom comes back with the flashlight (one minute), and then Sally and Conner cross (10 minutes). John brings the flashlight back (two minutes), and he and Tom venture across again (two minutes). He wins a free ticket to Bisnow's Industrial Real Estate Summit.
