La Porte Wants Retail for Christmas
At ACRP's holiday party, we found this handsome duo: The City of La Porte's Scott Livingston and Seeberger Architecture's Perry Seeberger. Scott tells us La Porte is known as an industrial area, but it's building up its retail and mixed-use offerings. (Now the forklifts can get themselves some sweaters.) There are some huge opportunities here: The 300-acre municipal airport might be redeveloped into a mixed-use center with retail, restaurants, office, and residential. And there are 234 acres on Bay Area Boulevard and 135 acres at SH 146 and Wharton Weems available for mixed-use development.
