Silver Eagle Breaks Ground
Silver Eagle Distributors began construction of its $25M distribution center in Pasadena this week. (Weve been waiting for this since we broke the news of its 100-acre land acquisition in January.) The 400k SF project will be LEED registered when it completes in Q2 14. This is the firms eighth facility in Texas and will serve as a warehouse/storage facility for the distributors other locations. Hopefully the storage facility will have some extra hard hats stowed away.
The Clydesdales were supposed to be on hand for the ceremony Tuesday but got stuck in Corpus. (So they claim, but we suspect they were just frolicking in the surf.) The building is being constructed by EE Reed and has the capacity to distribute 6 million to 8 million cases of product annually. It features a unique no-drive-thru loading dock that allows multiple trucks to be loaded simultaneously, plus 27 high-tech receiving docks to streamline unloading.
