Flix Brewhouse Plans Sugar Land Debut
Round Rock-based Flix Brewhouse, a dine-in (brew-in?) cinema brand, is entering Houston. Its first location will open in 2017 near the intersection of highways 6 and 90 in Sugar Land, and it's looking for other opportunities across Houston.
The 38k SF theater will have about a 1,000 seats and eight movie screens at The Promenade at Telfair, the entertainment sector of The Crossing at Telfair, a 112-acre mixed-use commercial development. Missouri City's Rubicon Realty Group is developing the project, according to the Houston Business Journal.
The $10M project will break ground this spring. The cinema will feature first-run studio films, independent movies and classic films.
Flix Brewhouse will also offer 12 varieties of craft beer and every theater will have its own brewer to make unique batches.
Flix is the second cinema-brewery planned for Sugar Land. Alamo Drafthouse is opening at Sugar Land’s Imperial Market development in summer 2017. [HBJ]
