New Light Rail Lines Finally Opening

The delays are over: METRO's Green and Purple light rail lines are opening on Saturday. It's a huge expansion for the system, bringing us to 23 miles of track and 38 stops, the Houston Chronicle reports. Of course, it's been a contentious and lengthy process (the new lines were originally slated to deliver mid-2014), and it's yet to be seen if they'll be widely embraced. [Chron]
