Texas Hits No. 4 In Forbes' Best States For Business List
Texans don't need any more reasons to take pride in our state—but here's another. Texas ranked No. 4 in Forbes' recent list of Best States For Business, up from No. 6 last year. Most notably, Texas ranked first in economic climate, fourth in business cost and eighth in labor supply, showing the state's strong fundamentals.
Utah took the top spot for the third straight year. Since taking over in 2009, Utah Gov. Gary Herbert has fought red tape, removing close to 400 different regulations. North Carolina and Nebraska were also rated higher than Texas. But the Lone Star State still has size on its side. Last year, Texas's GDP was nearly double Utah's, North Carolina's and Nebraska's combined.
