Houston Methodist System Signs At Prime Inner Loop Parcel
One of Houston's largest nonprofit health systems has signed a long-term lease at a hot site in the Inner Loop, 5505 West Loop South. The location, just south of 59 off 610, was formerly a Conn's store. The 25k SF space will be gutted and turned into a primary care center with an orthopedic clinic, physical therapy and imaging. Houston Methodist hopes to get the project off the ground in September, with a delivery date in March 2017. Dewberry Wilson is the architect, according to the Houston Business Journal. A general contractor has not been selected.
Much of the healthcare market is focused in Houston's surrounding areas as major health systems make an effort to serve patients closer to home. The location at the intersection of 610 and 59 was too good to pass up. To justify the space, Houston Methodist will offer more services than expected as well as a partnership with the HCC system. Nursing students at HCC will rotate through Houston Methodist's orthopedic clinic. [HBJ]
