Luxury High-Rise And Condos Planned For Bulletproof Galleria Area
Most Houston developers have put a hold on major projects. Not The Galleria. Simon Property Group announced plans Thursday for a 30-story hotel and condo tower on the 1.5-acre plot at the corner of Sage and West Alabama, where Macy's was recently demolished.
The company plans to break ground within the next year with a tentative opening date in late 2019. Two luxury flagship hotel chains and a smaller independent luxury boutique hotel are in talks to operate the property, which will consist of 225 rooms on 15 floors. The upper-level floors will be condos ranging from 800 to 3k SF. Considering where they're located and the quality of development, expect them to cost a pretty penny.
