Criminal Complaint Against Uptown Development Authority Over Bus Lane Acquisitions
A consultant representing property owners in the Galleria area filed a criminal complaint with Harris County DA Devon Anderson's office alleging the Uptown Development Authority broke state open meetings and disclosure laws in the course of acquiring property for a dedicated bus lane, the Houston Chronicle reports.
The consultant behind the complaint, Wayne Dolcefino, is also representing owners in the Cosmopolitan building on Post Oak in a preemptive lawsuit against a proposed residential tower.
Some $47M has been dedicated to right-of-way acquisition of 33 properties. 80% of the parcels have been purchased. Houston City Council voted that eminent domain could be used to acquire some of the properties should Uptown be unable to negotiate agreements. [Chron]
