    1. Stella McCartney

Stella McCartney made her first jacket in 1984, at the age of 13. It only took another 31 years for her women’s wear and accessories brand to decide to open a dedicated storefront in Houston. Until now, you could find the brand locally in Neiman Marcus and Gregory’s, or you had to head up to Dallas. Houston will be the 11th US city with a Stella McCartney boutique.

    2. Van Cleef & Arpels

You used to have to go to Neiman Marcus to get your Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry, watches and fragrances. The French brand is renowned for pieces featuring flowers, animals and fairies and has been worn by numerous style icons, including Grace Kelly and Elizabeth Taylor, and Van Cleef designed Empress Farah Pahlavi of Iran’s coronation crown in 1967.

    4. Vilebrequin

This luxury French brand specializes in swimwear and beachwear. It was founded in 1971 by a photographer and sports car journalist; Vilebrequin is the French word for crankshaft. It has 13 existing storefronts in the US and is known for its wide range of styles and sizes—you can shop there from age 2 to size 5XL. However, it only expanded into women’s clothes in 2013, one year after being acquired by G-III Apparel Group (which owns Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Levi’s and Dockers).

The Davidoff name is synonymous with top-quality cigars and tobacco—Zino Davidoff is even credited for inventing the desktop humidor. Davidoff has about 60 flagship locations worldwide and has announced it’s opening three in the US in 2015. Pictured is a rendering of the River Oaks District location—all Davidoff flagships have smoking lounges like this one.

This will be only the second Steak 44 in the world. The first steakhouse was opened two years ago in Phoenix by the Mastro Family Restaurant Group. (The entry into Houston makes sense—Landry’s bought Mastro’s in 2013.)
