Take A Peek: Hines Reveals Interiors For 34-Story Residential Tower In The Museum District
Hines has shown its hand for the La Colombe d’Or Hotel & Residences, a 34-story residential tower in the Montrose/Museum District in Houston, a project that broke ground more than a year ago.
The renderings reveal the interior design for the high-rise building for the first time. Construction is scheduled to wrap up in Q3 2020, and pre-leasing will begin in October.
"The interiors of the La Colombe d’Or Hotel & Residences combine the charm of old-world Houston with the grace and elegance of new contemporary design,” said Rottet Studio principal Lauren Rottet, the interior architect for the project. “Keeping in mind the indoor/outdoor lifestyle of Mediterranean architecture, of which the original La Colombe d’Or mansion was fashioned, the interior views are focused out to the lush greenery of the neighborhood and the landscaped courtyard in between the new tower and the existing mansion.”
The 285-unit luxury tower will feature a two-story lobby and a 10th-floor amenity deck featuring a resort-style pool, a private dining space, a display kitchen, meeting rooms, a social lounge with complimentary coffee bar, a gym and a relaxation room.
The ground level will also offer a courtyard with sculptures, fountains, a cigar bar and a fireplace centerpiece along with a 14K SF private park. On-site amenities include a 24-hour concierge, valet and access to the hotel’s room service and poolside service.
La Colombe d’Or Hotel & Residences will offer one- to three-bedroom units, ranging between 740 and 3,100 SF. The top two floors will also include 10 penthouses. Each single-level floor plan will feature flexible living spaces, floor-to-ceiling windows, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances and wide-planked wood flooring complementing Italian-made custom cabinetry throughout.
“La Colombe d’Or Hotel & Residences will evoke an elegant, stylish and sophisticated lifestyle reflective of the landmark property,” Hines Senior Managing Director Kevin Batchelor said. “Hines is committed to delivering a superior product and we are thrilled to be a part of the next chapter in the legacy of La Colombe d’Or.”
The new residential building will also provide 18 additional luxury rooms for guests of the 1920s-era La Colombe d’Or Hotel, which is also on the 1-acre site. The Zimmerman family has owned and operated the landmark hotel for 36 years. La Colombe d’Or Hotel & Residences is a joint venture with Hines, TIAA Global Asset Management and the Zimmerman family.
Hines also recently launched The Preston, a 46-story luxury residential tower in Downtown Houston. The 373-unit building is adjacent to the 1M SF office tower by Hines and Ivanhoé Cambridge, which is under construction at 800 Texas Ave.
