Exxon's New Neighbor: Skanska
Skanska’s spreading a wide net in its development swath—first the Galleria, then Energy Corridor, then Downtown, and now North Houston. The firm announced it acquired 14 acres adjacent to Exxon’s new campus to construct a master-planned Class-A office project that could reach 1M SF. The site is on Springwoods Village Parkway where 45 meets the Hardy Toll Road. EVP/regional manager Mike Mair says it could accommodate a single-tenant build-to-suit campus, or a multi-tenant three-building complex.
Thanks to Kirksey for the site plan. (Kirksey handled design of 3009 Post Oak; might it pair up with Skanska again for design here?) Besides the great access, Mike says he likes the height restrictions that allow for unobstructed views of the area as well as high visibility for tenants. This is the third big announcement from Skanska this month; it also began construction of West Memorial Place II and set the date for the demolition of the Houston Club Building (that’s on Oct. 19) in preparation for groundbreaking on Capitol Tower.
