Energy Company Nabs Trendy Office Space In Headquarters Move To Houston
In another in a long series of recent corporate relocations to the Lone Star State, Pittsburgh-based Archaea Energy has announced it will move its headquarters to Houston.
The company's new home base will be a 40K SF office in mixed-use development M-K-T at 600 North Shepherd Drive. After merging with Detroit-based Aria Energy and going public last year, the company subleased a temporary office at 4444 Westheimer Road in River Oaks District. It will still maintain a presence in Pittsburgh and Detroit, though it will hire in Houston, Archaea told the Houston Chronicle.
Archaea will move into M-K-T this fall, and it said it hopes that the trendy new development, which is outfitted with new retail, restaurants and events, will motivate employees to come to the office.
Archaea will become the largest office tenant at M-K-T, which opened its first retail outlets in 2020. It was developed by Triten Real Estate and Radom Capital. The developers told the Chronicle that demand spurred them to add more office space than originally intended, bringing the total to about 120K SF.
Archaea will share a building at M-K-T with Compass, a residential real estate company, and Village Medical, a healthcare clinic.
The move comes just weeks after Taiwanese electric vehicle company Noodoe EV announced it would move its U.S. headquarters from Irvine, California, to Houston.
