Bu-cee's Unleashes First Non-Texas Store
Texas' beloved convenience store and travel center opened its first location outside of the Lone Star State on Jan. 21.
Buc-ee's, which was founded in 1982, opened a 50K SF center in Baldwin County, Alabama. It offers 124 fueling positions and the biggest bathrooms the state has ever seen, according to a news release.
The new store will have some of the brand's favorite food offerings, such as barbecue, beef jerky, homemade fudge and Beaver Nuggets, a popular caramel and butter-glazed corn puffs snack.
Situated at 20403 County Road 68 in Robertsdale, Alabama, along Interstate 10 and Baldwin Beach Express, Buc-ee's is about the halfway mark between Mobile, Alabama, and Pensacola, Florida.
Buc-ee's is also constructing a 53K SF, 120-gas pump station store in Daytona Beach, Florida, according to the Daytona Beach News-Journal. Construction is expected to wrap up by the summer.
The Lake Jackson-based company operates more than 30 travel centers in Texas, including the largest convenience store in the world. The New Braunfels Travel Center totals 68K SF and features 120 fueling positions, 83 toilets, 80 fountain dispensers, 31 cash registers and four Icee machines.
