California-Based Family Dining Concept Heads To Houston
Black Bear Diner, a community-oriented family dining concept based in California, is pushing east with a new location in Katy, the first of many in the Houston area. JLL's Matt Parsons and Mark Raines repped Black Bear Diner in signing a 5,400 SF lease at the Shoppes at Parkwest. The Retail Connection’s Stephen Tou and Zach Hoffer represented the landlord, Medistar Parkwest JV. The restaurant is expected to open in the second quarter of 2018.
The brand is strategically growing its national footprint as it moves eastward. Black Bear Diner operates 94 locations in eight western states. Though future locations throughout Texas are planned, the company did not provide information on them.
