Historic Heights Theater Sells, To Be Converted

Placeholder

Edward Cabaniss, a Dallas developer known for redeveloping the Kessler Theater up there, has purchased the Heights Theater. The property was built in 1923 as a movie theater, and its sign is perhaps even more iconic than the structure. It's been serving as an art gallery lately, but Edward's bringing it back to its entertainment roots, according to the Houston Business Journal. He'll be renovating the historic property into a multi-use venue for weddings, concerts and art openings. It's projected to reopen mid-2016. Davis Commercial repped the buyer, and Boulevard Realty's Star Massing repped the sellers, Sharon and Gus Kopriva.
