Houston Receives High Marks for Senior Living
Houston is one of the top cities for senior living, according to a recent study by Redfin.com. The report shows that older adults in Houston have more purchasing power when compared to other large cities and have a wealth of options for both independent and assisted living. The city has the fifth-best technology-assisted living options for seniors in the US, reports the Houston Business Journal. Services such as Uber, Instacart and CareLinx are readily available to provide assistance to independent seniors. Pictured is the Eagle's Trace senior living community in Houston.
There has been explosive growth in residences geared towards seniors due to Houston’s aging population. The Buckingham, above, located at 8580 Woodway Dr in Houston, opened in 2005 and has consistently high occupancy rates. An expansion of the community was announced last year that will add 187 residences upon completion in 2017. Eagle’s Trace, at 14703 Eagle Vista Dr in Houston, has a sprawling full-service senior living campus. The community provides extensive options for active, independent seniors and also offers continuing care services as health needs change. [HBJ]
