There are only nine LEED Fellows in the state of Texas, and only one in Houston - now there's two. Kirksey Architecture's Julie Hendricks has been named a 2016 LEED Fellow by Green Business Certifications Inc.

Julie, a director of Kirksey’s EcoServices team, has consulted on and managed the LEED process for more than 50 projects and many building types, totaling more than 5M SF. Julie was also chosen in 2012 as the Ben Brewer Young Architect of the Year by the Houston Chapter of the AIA.

Julie's passion for going green has led her to many leadership positions in non-profit environmental organizations, including Executive Committee of the Gulf Coast Green Conference, which Kirksey co-founded, for nine years, serving as chair in 2014.

A talent such as Julie's is an immense asset to Kirksey, founder John Kirksey says. "Julie continues to be at the forefront of sustainable design strategies and innovative solutions, and her contributions continue to help shape the firm’s success.

The recipients will be honored at the 2016 USGBC Leadership Awards Luncheon at the Greenbuild International Conference & Expo on Oct. 6 in LA. The nomination period for the 2017 LEED Fellows class will open in January 2017.
