Houston's Power Women Make Change While Navigating Shifting Ground
Houston’s Power Women event is back, celebrating 20 of the most talented, experienced, risk-taking and innovative women working in the commercial real estate sector today.
Despite a pandemic that lingers on, economic turmoil and industry-rocking change that upended strategies and expectations, women continue to lead the charge in the workplace, rolling with new realities and adapting quickly to a changed landscape.
The last time Bisnow held the event, in 2019, transforming leadership structures, creating pipelines for one another and building diverse and inclusive teams were at the top of the agenda. Those priorities continue to resonate for this year’s cohort of women leaders, but after almost two years of social upheaval and a pandemic that turned the nation’s focus inward, the need for change has only grown more pronounced and urgent.
Many of this year’s honorees have taken matters into their own hands, creating mentorship programs and initiatives to empower women within and outside of their own organizations. Others have taken on key roles to promote diversity, equity and inclusion.
Through it all, they’ve steered their companies through rough waters, adjusting to waves of unexpected change and navigating sudden, and often unwelcome, shifts in the industry.
This year’s cohort of honorees includes women in the early stages of their CRE career who have risen and succeeded despite the many challenges of the past 20 months — top performers at their company, those who have launched their own firms, champions of diversity and inclusion, and industry innovators.
Read on to find out more about them and stay tuned for more of their insights when Bisnow celebrates their contributions and accomplishments at its Women Leading Real Estate event Dec. 9.
