Riley Bechtel

Riley Bechtel took over the family business in 1990 and ran it until 2014, when he stepped down for health reasons. His son Brandon is now president and COO of Bechtel. Riley joined the company in 1981 as a contract coordinator and held many positions before becoming CEO of the company, which has built notable landmarks like the Hoover Dam and the Channel Tunnel.

Early last summer the company finished tunneling under London for Crossrail, a new high-capacity railway that is also the largest engineering project in Europe.
