Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen became one of the richest people on earth after cashing in his $8.5B stake in Microsoft in 2000. He has had his fingers in all kinds of ventures since. Allen is the owner of the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks and the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers and has a stake in Major League Soccer’s Seattle Sounders.
