Stan Kroenke’s sports empire includes the LA Rams, the famous English Premier League soccer team Arsenal and the Denver Nuggets. He also controls a 30M SF real estate portfolio that includes shopping plazas near multitudes of Walmart locations. (He is married to Wal-Mart Stores Inc. founder Sam Walton’s niece Ann).
In 2017, a one-year delay was announced for the opening of the massive new NFL stadium in a 300-acre “entertainment district” in Inglewood, California. Rain during crucial construction days was cited as a reason for the delay. The facility, paid for in part by a $1B construction loan Kroenke secured from JP Morgan, is now set to open for the 2020 NFL season as home to the Rams and the Chargers. — Scott Klocksin
