Hey Big Lender: Wells Fargo Tops 2017 Syndicated Loan Table
Wells Fargo was the lender that syndicated the most debt in the U.K. in 2017, according to Dealogic, as overall U.K. debt syndication dropped.
Wells Fargo syndicated about £1.2B of debt across nine deals, Dealogic said, and lent about £3B in total.
Significant deals undertaken by the U.S. bank included a £151M loan to fund the purchase of a £286M industrial portfolio by fund manager Oxenwood, and a £488M loan to refinance the Merry Hill shopping centre in the West Midlands.
Barclays, JP Morgan, HSBC and ING rounded out the list of the top five lenders.
Overall U.K. real estate loan syndication fell in 2017 from €11.8B to €9.1B. The number of transactions fell 16%.
