Thor And Tishman Strike £180M London Deal
Thor Equities bought a retail and office property in London from Tishman Speyer for £180M, in one of Thor’s biggest European deals so far.
Thor has teamed up with French fund manager AEW to buy 100 New Oxford St. in the West End. AEW was acting on behalf of two German institutional investors.
The building totals 106K SF, of which 18.5K SF is retail. The retail is leased to Shake Shack, Jessops, Costa Coffee and All Bar One.
Tishman bought the building for £130M in 2015. It is near the new Crossrail station that is under construction.
Thor has made a big splash in Europe since entering the market in force in 2014, having invested more than £1.5B on primarily retail assets.
Thor owns properties throughout London including 151 Wardour St., 18 Conduit St., 145 Oxford St., 105-109 Oxford St. and Bond Street House at 14 Clifford St., as well as the Burlington Arcade in Mayfair.
The company also owns properties at 32 Rue des Archives, 54 Rue de Rennes and 51-53 Blvd Haussmann in Paris; 65 Blvd de la Croisette in Cannes; 5 Puerta del Sol, 11 Puerta del Sol and 16 Calle Fuencarral in Madrid; and 26 Via della Spiga in Milan.
