The Queen’s Wharf development in Hammersmith is now 50% complete with over 80% of the homes sold.
The project is transforming the site of a derelict office building into a residential building with 165 units, a café, a restaurant with river views and a new riverside walkway linking to the Thames path. Riverside Studios, the original home of Doctor Who, will also be redeveloped and will feature an independent cinema, theatre and TV studios.
Queen’s Wharf broke ground in September 2014 and the scheme is due to complete at the end of 2017.
EXECS
Christian Ullbrich will succeed the retiring Colin Dyer as chief executive of JLL in October.
LEASING
Honey Birdette signed a lease for 825 SF at 56 Long Acre in Covent Garden. It will be the first UK shop for the Australian luxury lingerie retailer.

Pop-up ramen restaurant Monohon secured its first permanent site on Old Street, London. The new noodle house will accommodate around 30 covers over 1.4k SF, split between a ground floor and basement. Monohon is due to open at the end of the year.

Two new H&M-owned stores will open in Bristol in time for the Christmas shopping season. Cos and Monki signed leases for shopfronts at Cabot Circus, which is jointly owned and operated by Hammerson on behalf of the Bristol Alliance.

River Island opened a 10k SF store at Flemingate, the 162k SF retail and leisure development in Beverley. The retail offer is set to continue expanding, too, with two further signings soon to be announced. McMullen Wilson and Fawley Watson Booth acted for landlord Wykeland. River Island was repped internally.

Executive recruitment firm Insight Executive Group signed a lease for the sixth floor of Kings House in the City. The new space is four times as big as its older premises on King William Street.
SALES
Exeter Property Group acquired Lothbury Investment Management’s distribution facility at Manor Park, Runcorn, for £11.5M. The facility is let to Fresenius Kabi, the German pharmaceuticals manufacturer and distributor, for a further six years. Zaman Roberts repped Exeter Property Group whilst JLL advised Lothbury.
DEVELOPMENT
University College London Hospitals NHS Trust selected Mace to deliver a new £50M hospital in central London. The new facility will sit on the site of the old UCL student union and will open in 2019.

Slough’s new library and cultural centre, The Curve, will open to the public on 2 September. The £22M building will house a new central library; community learning rooms; the registrar services, including a wedding room; a 280-seater performance and multi-use space; a café and a garden area.
