London Is No Longer Europe's Most Expensive Overnight Stay
Oslo and Dublin have overtaken London as the most expensive capitals in Europe for overnight stays. Research from hotel solution provider HRS found average hotel room rates in major cities in the UK, including the capital, declined in the second quarter of 2016, compared to the same period last year.
While London’s prices inched downward, other European capitals became more expensive. Dublin surpassed London with average hotel room rates at £162, while Oslo is the most expensive in Europe at £186 per night—70% more expensive than the same period last year.
New York retained its position as the most expensive city in the world with an average room rate of £204/night.
