UK’s First Hotel For Autistic Young People Given The Go-Ahead
Gateshead Council gave the go-ahead for a £2M project to create the UK’s first hotel for young people with autism and learning difficulties.
St. Camillus Care Group will transform the former Rivers Edge Hotel into The Vault, converting the 28 bedrooms to provide respite care for young people with a range of learning difficulties, and training has already begun to give people with autism and learning difficulties an opportunity to work alongside staff, according to Hotel Owner.
Other opportunities for internships will be made available as well. 30 jobs will be created when the hotel opens in October. [HO]
