London Square Acquires Former Pickle Factory In Southwark For £50M
London Square shelled out £50M for the former Rich Industrial Estate in Bermondsey, once home to famous pickle purveyors Crosse & Blackwell, which made Branston Pickles there until 1969.
London Square called it the largest property deal in Southwark since the Brexit vote, according to the Evening Standard. The developer plans to build a major mixed-use project on the site, including 406 apartments across six distinctive buildings: The Tannery, The Blackwell, The Hide, The Crosse, The Pickle Factory, and The Canning.
The 4.7-acre site will also house 226k SF of commercial, retail, art gallery and storage floor space, and a small business hub. [ES]
