U + I To Build 1,000 Rental Housing Units
Urban regeneration developer U + I submitted planning applications for four projects that will deliver over 1,000 new rental homes in Kent and Surrey.
U + I deputy CEO Richard Upton says the company is making good progress at each of the sites in Ashford, Maidstone, Swanley and Woking—the “huburbs” about an hour’s commute from central London.
The sites were chosen to be near train stations and parks, and in good rental growth areas. The rental market is now valued at £1.29T and is expected to account for 22% of the UK’s housing market by 2025.
