Your Housing Group Embarks On £2.5B JV Deal To Produce 25k Homes Per Year
Your Housing Group signed a historic JV deal with Welink Group, one that will spur the development of thousands of modular homes across the UK via an initial investment. The JV will have access to China National Building Material’s technology, financial support and the leverage for additional investment in the UK.
As the government hopes to deliver 1 million new homes by 2020, the JV plans to build up to 25,000 homes per year and deliver up to six factories at strategic locations through the UK. The deal will make YHG the UK’s largest modular housing developer.
YHG CEO Brian Cronin said the partnership will help address the availability crisis by providing more social and affordable homes across the UK and boosting employment.
YHG envisions modular homes produced with technology similar to a car manufacturing plant, reducing costs and enabling quick assembly.
