Salesforce Bets On Offices As London HQ Among Tech Firm's Busiest Global Offices
The head of Salesforce in the UK and Ireland has said that the global tech firm’s City of London office is among the busiest offices it has worldwide.
The tech giant is mooting plans to expand and invest in its real estate portfolio, with more people working in its London offices than any other city globally. In an interview with newspaper City AM, Salesforce UK and Ireland Chief Executive Zahra Bahrololoumi also said that the UK headquarters would be upgraded to help improve in-person working.
“Salesforce thrives in city centres,” Bahrololoumi said. “We’ve listened to our employees and in-person connection is their No. 1 request.”
According to Bahrololoumi, the tech firm believes that physical spaces are “critical for collaboration” and will be fixed as a core part of the company’s identity going forward.
The Salesforce regional chief executive's comments come shortly after a major UK bank stated that the return to the office may have peaked.
An HSBC global briefing note seen by Bisnow said that remote working is now “entrenched” in many mature economies such as the UK and the U.S.
The UK bank said that although office workers have trudged back to their desks in increasing numbers since late last year "the next stage of working trends will have a marked impact on the economy — both in terms of urban activity and broader economic performance”.
