The Skyscraper Cluster Continues To Grow As 22 Bishopsgate Moves Ahead
After mulling over options for the grandly designed 22 Bishopsgate tower, AXA Investment Managers will continue construction of the building.
The developers and investors took a breather after Brexit to determine their options. AXA IM-Real Estate CEO Pierre Vaquier says the company is taking a long-term view of the project. “The decision to proceed underscores our confidence in the progressive and attractive development that we will deliver at 22.” He expects demand to be there for well-located quality office space in the future, notwithstanding the uncertainties caused by Brexit.
The new building will offer about 1.4M SF and will be attractive to a variety of international and domestic occupiers; it will accommodate about 12,000 people. Significant prep work has already begun, and completion is expected in 2019.
PLP Architecture has been appointed the architect. A general contractor is still being decided.
