Mortlake Brewery Starts Selling Vats Before Being Turned Into Luxury Flats
The Mortlake brewery in southwest London has begun selling off its vats, pumps and bottling lines at auction as its new owner prepares to transform the 500-year-old brewery into luxury flats.
The site, including millions of pounds of brewing equipment, sold for £158M last year from global drinks firm ABInBev to developer Reselton, according to the Guardian. It is to be turned into a luxury riverside residential development stretching along 200 metres of the Thames at Richmond. It is part of an ongoing regeneration of the area into a high-density, residential-led scheme with restaurants, cafes, retail, museums and boathouses. [Guardian]
