Retailers Across UK Experience 'Halloween Jump'
Footfall ticked up at shopping centres across most parts of the country during the month of October, according to the latest data from Revo / ShopperTrak UK.
Out-of-town shopping centres reported the largest month-on-month rise of 16.6%. In-town shopping centres also reported an increase of 4.3%.
Traffic rose across Northern Ireland and Scotland by 11.9% and 7.3%, respectively, while visitor numbers remained unchanged between September and October in Wales.
The South East experienced the most significant jump of footfall with a 7.9% increase, followed by Yorkshire and the Humber and the East Midlands with 5.6% and 5.5% increases, respectively.
Visitor numbers experienced a particular spike across most regions on Sunday, 30 October, in the run-up to Halloween. Northern Ireland experienced the biggest increase, 29.8%, followed by the North West with 8.1% and the North East, up by 7%.
