TGI Fridays Shakes Up Newcastle Location With Radical New Concept

Placeholder

US-based TGI Fridays is radically changing its concept from a mid-range lunch and dinner chain to a modern "eat and enjoy" hub. The new shops will feature live music and DJs, according to Hospitality and Catering News.

The new restaurants will be revamped to include spacious light and bright lounge and bar areas that can be used for listening to the live music, or working on a laptop—thanks to free WiFi and ample power sockets.

The menu has been updated to feature American-style breakfasts, bottomless Prosecco brunch on weekends, and lunches with fresh and light options like Duck Salad, as well as other options that are available "on the go" from 11am to 3pm. New items on the menu will include bacon lollipops, cola chicken thighs, and a Gravy Seal Burger that nearly defies description: a chicken escalope, beef burger, popcorn shrimp, red and caramelised onions, and Colby cheese, all served with beef gravy.

The first of the new concepts has launched in Newcastle’s Eldon Square and two more will open between now and February. [HCN]
