Amazon Property Developers Launch Luxury Storage Facility In Marylebone
Luxury property developer Amazon Property unveiled its most unique project yet: a 10k SF, £30M, three-storey super-prime storage facility 40 feet beneath Great Portland Street.
Spread over three basement floors, The Armitage Vaults are encased in ferrous concrete more than three feet thick and contain 135 steel-lined, climate-controlled storage units ranging from six to 100 SF, according to the Evening Standard.
The bunker-style vaults give high-net-worth individuals a plush place to store art, jewelry, paperwork and other valuables.
The basement complex is a former library, records office and storage centre for the Royal National Institute for the Blind, originally built in 1921.
The site’s insurance covers stored items valued up to £150k but cover can be extended to £10M in value by special arrangement and additional fees. [ES]
