LA just received $64.6M in grants for eco-friendly affordable housing developments.

The money includes nearly $12M for the redevelopment of Watts’ Jordan Downs into a mixed-use project, LA Mayor Eric Garcetti announced last week.

Additional funds will be used for four permanent housing projects for the formerly homeless, Curbed reports. The projects will add nearly 350 units of housing and include on-site resident services.

Nearly $17M, the biggest award, went to 7th & Witmer, a Westlake affordable housing development under construction that will include 76 units and 6k SF of commercial space.

The awards come from the state’s two-year-old Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities program. A total of six projects received awards. [Curbed]
