CohnReznick Takes Top Floor
CohnReznick is moving up in the world, having signed alease for the entire top floor at 1900 Avenue of the Stars in Century City. The11th largest accounting firm in the country will consolidate offices in Brentwood and elsewhere in Century City.
CohnReznick was represented by Cresa principals Dave Toomey (whom we snapped at our State of the Market event earlier this year),Carlo Brignardello, and Brian Davies. The 22.5k SF space has higher than normal ceilings and views in all four directions. "It'll make for a very dramatic space when it's completed," Dave told us this week. Move-in is slated for August. Cresa began the assignmentlast summer, working with just JH Cohn.Halfway through the process, Cohn and Reznick Group combined, forcing the tenant brokers to step back and review their requirements, redefining the parameters for a search that would combine their operations in a single location.
The landlord of 1900 Avenue of the Stars, Duesenberg Investment Co, was represented by Darren Bell of Topa Management. Davesays they evaluated consolidating operations at either Wilshire Landmark in Brentwood, where Cohn will be coming from, or Reznick's digs at 1888 Century Park East, and considered a location in Westwood, as well. Ultimately, the combined firm determined that Century City was the ideal choice, and specifically 1900 AOS based on the quality of the building, the size of the floor and the overall economics. Dave says it was a very favorable transaction for CohnReznick, "but it made a lot of sense for Topa to make that deal. I think both sides are happy."
