Theresa Jones Senior Managing Director, Hackman Capital Partners
Theresa Jones focuses on the transactional side of Hackman Capital Partners' real estate and equipment business, including acquisitions, sales, evaluating and implementing new lines of business, fundraising and investor relations for the firm and its investment entities. Recent HCP acquisitions include 1.6M SF of former Campbell's facilities in Sacramento and 750k SF purchased from the Hoover vacuum company in El Paso and Juarez, Mexico (the company's first Mexican acquisition), which reflect HCP's MO: buying closed factories to reposition the real estate and sell off the equipment. Lately, the company branched out by buying Culver Studios (where Gone With the Wind and Citizen Kane were filmed), which it will continue to operate as a studio. The UCLA English major first started working with Michael Hackman after college, when she worked on the political campaign for one of his close friends. After the election, she joined HCP in '94 to do industrial equipment and real estate deals, and she hasn’t looked back. Given the limited number of females on the principal side of real estate, she advises that women embrace this advantage. "You stand out, so leverage it," she says. Theresa is mom to a 10-year-old and 7-year-old twins; she's also an avid UCLA football, UCLA basketball, Warriors and 49ers fan (she admits to watching pretty much every sport, except boxing and racing). Of course, this time of year, she's cheering for her fantasy football team and just slipped into the top four.
