Drone Video: USC's $650M Construction Project
Our pal Roy Reel of Harley Ellis Devereaux sent us this video, which gives you a construction update on the largest construction project in USC's history: the $650M development at Hoover and Jefferson.
Panels are now being installed on the freshman college, with the other five buildings to follow. The precast concrete and window surrounds, bricks and panels are all manufactured in different places, assembled in Perris and then transported by truck. An average two-story panel weights 16,000 pounds.
The first five buildings will provide 2,700 beds of student housing and 140k SF of retail for the students and surrounding community. USC selected Harley Ellis in 2013 to plan and design the project, being constructed by Hathaway Dinwiddie. The entire 15-acre development is scheduled for completion in June 2017.
