CGI+ Tweaks Hollywood Apartment Tower Plans To Be Shorter, Include More Units
CGI+ has revamped its plans for a site near Franklin Avenue and Cahuenga Boulevard: The new plan involves a 20-story apartment project with 244 units, more than originally planned.
The developers expect to break ground on the project in 2025 and complete it in 2027.
The site at 1830 Cahuenga Blvd. is occupied now by a two-story apartment building. According to city public records, the building holds 24 units. It's next to a large surface parking lot, the address of which is also listed in the tower plans. CGI+ confirmed to Bisnow that the building on the property would be relocated to a new site and would not be demolished.
In 2021, CGI+ formed a joint venture with the property owner and planned to build a slightly taller project, at 22 stories with 222 units and 18.5K SF of retail, according to The Real Deal.
Hollywood could be seeing a lot more new tenants if city projections hold true. This month, the Los Angeles City Council gave the green light to the neighborhood's community plan, a document that guides new development in Hollywood.
CGI+ is staying busy. It has a multifamily and hotel project underway now near the Wilshire/La Brea stop on the Purple Line extension. The development is expected to open next year.
